Anyone here using the community fix mod (which insists on being at 08.cat/dat) and also patched to 2.1? I've asked the same question in the mod thread but hoping to get a faster answer here.

Please do not ask the same question in multiple threads, and please keep script/mod related questions in the Scripts and Modding forum.

I haven't tried 2.1 yet (I just got home from work), but thank you very much to ES for having a coordinated release with Steam. I'm looking forward to seeing what this update looks like. :D

I think it has given my low end rig an average of 4 extra fps. Taken from fraps.

And I have the mission. thx.

Crystal requirements reduced is fantastic as I was down to 623,000 and really not looking forward to months spent getting the rest!
Even better for me though is the new info screens for Marines and shipyards etc.
One benefit of this is that we can now clearly see the orders given to ships owned by stations, as the info box before didn't have enough room to display them in most cases.

Haven't noticed much performance benefit though, my 30 factory complex in Spring of Belief still causes a very noticeable frame rate drop - might have to resort to complex cleaners.

SLeeZeCoRe wrote:Just installed this, I have a bad feeling as I saw it dump 8.dat, as I already have one and I'm not sure what it was (I'm false patched upto 12) :o

I've got Steam in offline mode, purposely. I wanted it to update on MY terms.

That said. With past patches (I'm like you, I'm up to 13.cat), I copy everything above the latest patch (ie, 2.0 was 07, so I copied 07-my last) to a temp location, patch, then re-numbered the ones I copied.

That way, the patch didn't overwrite anything I had modified, which would almost certainly cause a CTD on a savegame load.

There's an art to patching when you're running modified. :)

I'll patch mine tonight.

I'm chuffed about the crystal thing as well. I'm currently at 635k to go.

Yeah, Play.com if you can wait a few days for them to deliver. Steam is £5 more but you'll be playing it as soon as you can download it...

Man I miss the days where Steam charged in dollars. Practically halved the cost of games...

Xenon_Slayer wrote: Pre 2.0 and X3: Reunion, the rotation of objects caught in the tractor beam were incorrect. That's why mines turned strangely, either breaking the connection or smashing into the back of your ship. For 2.0 we removed it. In 2.1 there is a new an improved version where you can again manually rotate stations during towing, but in a nice and natural looking manner.
Is there any chance of getting a patch to fix this problem in X3:R as well? I may be just dreaming here, but since you do already have the fix, I'd certainly appreciate it.

Protein Paste L,
Crystal Fab L Commonwealth versions,
500,000 less crystals for the hub,
Improved marine training,
Fixed terran missles,
New mission...

Yes, I think I am rather pleased with this patch. :)

Agree. Patches make mod & script creators update as well, keeping players active in the egosoft forums hunting for those fixes!

Sorry if this has been answered before, but I was wondering which missiles were rebalanced and how?

But scan asteroid missions are still broken. :headbang:

Actually, is there a more full list of the fixed or improved missions that the one that Xenon_Slayer posted. I'm trying to tell if some of the things I complained about are actually fixed or not (it appears that one of them (bugged scan asteroid missions) have not been).
