SSDN v2 adds Drone production to the C&CC.
If the C&CC is within range of a Node it will try and obtain wares required for production.

See OP for details

Can I upgrade from 1.01 with this?

If I do that will I still need the earlier patch or is that patch included in V2?

andrew
It's just a script update so you can just use the .spx file.
If you’re using FDN the mod file already has the SSDN details.

I'm not sure I was clear, sorry.

I meant do I still need to do the SSDN plugin.drone patch from earlier today if I install V2?

Does the version of SSDN your using allow you to build Drones at the CCC :?:

I have a nagging feeling that I've not uploaded the new versions of SSDN & LSDC which add Drone production

I'm lost :!:

LA
By the way, the LSDC version I downloaded must have drone production. The screenshots you posted for SSDN V2 triggered my memory that I had seen those before!!!

Just checked the old uploaded version and the files for production weren’t in there. Better safe than sorry.

Okay, cool. I assume the LSDC V2 you just posted includes the drone patch for that as well?

Can't wait to get home tonight and start making drones all over the universe!!!

Hi Logain - I installed both SSDN v2 and LSDC v2 and now when I open my savegames i get a crash to desktop.

Is there anything you can think of that in the updates that might cause that?

Uninstalled all the scripts and mods, then re-installed and I was able to access all but 1 of my saves. Maybe just one of those things that just happens sometimes!

Sorry to hear that :( ,

I tested the v2 scripts on a number of older saves which I do for each new version and had no issues. They can be a bit temperamental, but as this was just a change to existing script I can't think of anything that would cause the crash :?:

Just wondering, is there a way to set which faction SSDN attacks bypassing the global IFF in the players panel?

No, it just uses the Global IFF.

Is it possible to change which sectors appear under which SSDN? I have deployed two SSDNs and their sphere of inluence overlaps. The second SSDN only includes those sectors which the first one didn't cover.

The only reason I ask this is because I would like different SSDNs to have different responses to threats based on the sectors they cover. One might cover border sectors and only respond to certain threats while another could cover core sectors and respond to different threats.

No it isn’t. This would screw up the Adv Sat task which detects, tracks and engages contacts.

An additonal CCC will not show a sector as available if it’s already covered by a deployed SSDN.

Ah, okay, I understand. It's no big deal really. My sectors remain safely covered as it is!!!

hmm this may be taking it a step too far, but would SSDN be able to deploy laser towers to any enemies that set off the large presence or capship warnings. Once all the enemies in the area are destroyed the laser tower could stay there and continue to defend and if SSDN picked up another large contact and had no laser towers in stock, it could relocate some already deployed ones.

EDIT: it also appears that 2 SSDN nodes cannot protect the same sector. this is fine but at the moment i see no way to define which node is protecting a sector.

Lasertowers are superfluous. Enough drones take down anything ! SSDN works far better than massed lasertowers ever did.

When you hotkey up the ccc list, each ccc displays the sectors that you have an advanced satelite in, within range. Simply click on the sector to enable ssdn coverage in that sector. If it shows on more than one ccc, then choose first which one you want to cover it with.

LA, this works too d*mn well !

I had a collision jumping into Argon Prime today. Collidee turned red, my guns (set to attack enemies because I spend so much time in the Xenon sectors) finished him off. It was one of the corporation ships, and all of them in the sector turned red, so my guns start on them and drones beam in to finish them. The sector defense turns red and while I'm madly punching buttons to say a gun misfire, the sector is full of green drones firing at the sector defense, which quickly gets shredded and as fast as I appologize and they turn blue, twice as many turn red again. Before I knew it, Argon Prime is all red to me and I'm at war with the Argon.

All because some blind Paranid rams into me as I jump in !

Want to claim Paranid Prime for yourself ? Put a CCC in there with 1000 drones, then have a collision with someone. In short order, there will only be stations left. And you wont have to fire a shot ! :) Use station boarding script and the sector is yours ! :pirat:

The purists will hate this because it is so powerful.

But its been said for years that 1000 drones will own a sector ! This proves it.

But my perspective is that the game does not provide an adequate sector defense. 300 Lasertowers works far worse than 100 drones does. I've done it both ways, and the LT's are just too damn hard to be bothered with. The OWPs are too limited in range.

SSDN is finally a decent sector defense. Yay ! :D

Yes it’s powerful, but it has a high set-up cost, SSDN itself, the drone production at a volume to supply it with adequate drones. It’s not as flexible as a deployable fleet and it requires a maintained ADV Sat network, not that I’ve ever lost an SSDN active Adv Sat.
