Very nicely done. I wonder in what kind of limited capacity the Omega could be used without the Component... of course, to know that I'd have to let slip what exactly the Component is

Apologies if wrong place to post this but I had to tell you guys that you are doing an amazing job! I must admit to having had difficulty, initially!, trying to follow the chapters, but you seem to have them locked in one place now so much easier to read. Great story/writing and enough not 'over the top' Sci-Techspeak as it were.

I could continue with Adrian's arc under the assumption that they're headed to Nopileos's Memorial... there's more to write on T'ach and the kid, though, so Adrian can take a nap for a while longer

Just a purple crystal to create and focus the laser beam, a la solid-state laser.

Could be nividium, but I thought that was a metal rather than a crystal. I don't know its optical properties either
