X3 Return + Bala Gi updated?

Sorry guys, please explain! Was the initial topic about an Egosoft update or 3rd party scripted update for the "recently" released X3 + Bala Gi mission dvd. Just want to know if I have to update my recently acquired 'Mac' X3 + Bala Gi disk . I open the pc updates and take out the parts I need usually.

Threads in these topics are about the Bonus Pack, and not about unsigned scripts or the Bala Gi missions, altho sometimes the coders have been known to hide little extras inthe BP

Note: if you have only installed the stuff on your disc it is worth you downloading this Bonus pack and installing it

I quess berths question fell to deaf ears....

so WHAT did change in UT script with bb .06, was really hard to miss that update since 40 UT's restarted and spammed my message log.

I think the version the message says mentions v3100 should that mean anything to anyone....

  • "autotrader" is now implemented with (at least) 22 files
  • they are all dated 2007-03-11
  • the bonuspack installer keeps a backup the "scripts" folder
  • in my backup copy, the "autotrader" files have various dates from 2005-11-10 to 2006-11-10
The obvious change is probably update of the version number in every file. The real changes in code ... you would unpack both versions and compare the code in every pair of files to find out.

I just noticed that I have some of the scripts that are part of the bonus pack installed separately thru the mod manager. Is it safe to remove these seperate installs via the mod manager? Is it necessary to do so? I just go back into the game after some issues with previous saves and don't want to mess anything back up by messing with this if I don't need too. Thanks.

Yes, you should remove those scripts. Safest thing to do would be to remove those scripts, then reinstall the bonus pack. I'm not sure if any of the scripts have files in common with the bonus pack (probably not) but better safe than sorry. (It won't hurt anything to reinstall the bonus pack.)

:EDIT: You'll want to stop any of those scripts from running on anything before you remove them to ensure your save remains ok. Follow uninstall procedures (if any) in the relevant script thread.

Thanks for the information; they don't seem to be affecting anything but I don't like them there since I have them as part of the bonus pack.
