new 2.0 release for United States

First, thanks for all the info and this game is great. I've been trying to find sites that i can purchase the DVD release with the latest updates. I've been looking in local stores and on several websites, enlight, ebgames, gamespot etc... I haven't been able to find anyplace that a DVD with latest updates can be purchased. I'd rather have the DVD instead of a download.. please, any help would be greatly appreciated..

I'm guessing from your game registration that you are in the US. The GOTY edition that this thread refers to is published by the European publisher, so you'd have to look for a European site prepared to export to the US. The US publisher, Enlight, did release a 2.0 version on DVD back in November but I'm not sure which sites in the US would have that available. Note that the Enlight DVD is 2.0 so you'd still have to apply the smallish 2.0->2.0.02 patch for it to be completely up to date.

Got the game yesterday and looks like I got an empty lotto ticket as well, as it only came with the game DVD. No manuals (except on the DVD) or any other papers to be read. Couldn't find a registration code either, but I take that not being able to register your game doesn't affect anything?

Edit: And from reading other topics, I came to the conclusion that it shouldn't affect anything. Thanks.

Finally got the game (a week for sending to Italy)...definitely a good bargain, the community guides are awesome...and by the way, having my images put as wallpaper content is a hell of a gratification :D

And, as someone said before, "where's my funky avatar?" :lol:

Yes really. I did the same search again today and came up with 124 posts. HOwever, I also did a search today on "Xenon" and the engine couldn't find anything...

What is the difference between the Game of the Year Edition (the one with exclusive to game on the front) and the Game of the Year 2007 Edition (apart from the avatar)?? :?

If the version you are referring to wasn't released in 2007 then it is probably only version 1.4 on the disk.

I have this problem. I can't find a registration code. What I should do?

there is no need to register the game..

GOTY2007 did originally come with the promise of a new registration code,
but this idea was later dropped for technical reasons..

I believe the matter is still being looked into :gruebel:

- you won't have any problems with access to the the forums, etc..
- the whole universe is running in BETA mode - we're working on it.. beep..!! :D :thumb_up:

Hello

I also have bought the 2007 edition on the uk the day it came out but only installed it today. I am currently reading the Rogue stories and I thought I want to play the game again now :-)

I was wondering what happened to owning that one sector?? Possible?

The distribution of different versions is up to the publishers. However, this is rather old news and if you've not seen this particular version on sale in Australia yet then the chances are that you probably won't in the future either.
