Re: XTM Custodian: Awesome ship but....
If you check it out, I think you'll find the Custodian can only carry L size cargo, which is why you can't pick up larger PPCs. The thing is, that ship is not designed to stand alone--it's a shield frigate, which is designed to instantly recharge other ship's shields (which explains why it has so few guns for such a large ship--it's meant to operate as part of a fleet!).philip_hughes wrote: It cannot pick up Gppc's or Bppc's despite its huge cargoe space. Is this a bug or something that was deliberate?

Yeah... thanks for the info.pjknibbs wrote:If you check it out, I think you'll find the Custodian can only carry L size cargo, which is why you can't pick up larger PPCs. Unfortunately, it DOES stand alone - and very well. So much so that its worth putting up with these little oddeties.
Im going to try docking it with an m6 as instructed... I think the reaper would be an excellent choice.
Split now give me death? Nah. Just give me your ship.

Okay, what the hell just happened? (Spoilers)
Spoiler

Right! Where do I begin? I have XTended Installed and was doing the Bala Gi Missions. I'm up to the point where they tell me to retrieve the Yacht Prototype M7. So I go on my merry way to the unknown sector (through Maelstrom which has shed loads of pirates in it now courtesy of Xtended!). When I get to the unknown sector I thought it was just a matter of claiming the Nemesis, claiming the abandoned Nova and towing the Yacht, right?
But no.
Upon entering the system i'm presented with this huge son of a gun Xenon-like sphere! What the hell is it? I fired on it! No result. I went in it, it's got some revolving thing too fast for my ship to enter! It looks well scary! What the hell is it!
And another question, I searched everywhere for the abandoned Nova and I can't find it! Anyone shed some light on this please!

Actually, the Dyson Sphere is still in that sector in 0.72 as long as the game was started under 0.7a. It's there in my game as well, even though I upgraded to 0.72.pjknibbs wrote:You're still running 0.7a of XTM, by the sounds. 0.7.2 moved the sphere elsewhere.
Anyway, moving this over to the XTM topic...

In X3 you can only claim fighters (M5-M3). To claim the abandoned M6 provided by XTM, you need Cycrow's Salvage Claim Software found here. Basically an advanced form of the regular software bought at pirate bases, but a) much more expensive (6 mil), b) works on all ships, not only fighters, and c) can be bound to a hotkey. Very comfortablephilip_hughes wrote:Found an abandoned centaur MK1 in a xenon sector. Cannot claim it. Bug or some software needed?

Edit: someone was faster than me

Actually, I'd say buying the software for the hotkey is already worth more than the 6 million. Getting a Centaur and a P is just icing on top of the cake.
Getting to the P is another adventure in itself, since

you need to pass through the xenon sector where the planet was put too close to the gate area, leading to all ships in the sector exploding as soon as you gate in. Yes, that includes your ship.

ok...
Xtended comes in two parts: see this
the core mod -> this is a .rar file, which should be extracted to the main x3 directory (this should add cat/dat 10 and lots of files in the soundtrack folder)
size = 337MB
the script files -> this is what is installed with cycrows plugin manager. this is .spk format. double clicking on it will automatically install the files to the correct folder (assuming the plugin manager is configured correctly).
both parts MUST be installed for the mod to work
hope this helps

Utter Computer biff needs help installing XTM 7a
Downloaded the 337Mb XTM.7a mod from the main forum
unpacked in with WinRAR to give me a folder of around 1Gb entitled XTM 7a.
opened Cycrows script manager and enabled the Xtended Mod scripts 0.71 file that was also downloaded off of the community forum as per the XTM 0.7 instruction manual.
Went to enable the 1Gb mod file (i.e. the WinRAR unpacked file) and I'm not finding anything in there that I can open.
Sorry to be a complete noob, but has anyone got a solution?
