That is a stellar system that should be able to run everything (X:R included) that comes out for the next several years.
Any problems you have with AP are probably due to SLI.
i.e. compared to Egosoft shop & Steam OS specs:
X Rebirth http://store.steampowered.com/app/2870 Windows 8 (64-bit), Windows 7 SP1 (64-bit), Vista SP2 (64-bit), XP SP2 (64-bit)
Also was wondering if the paper-back by Helge T. Kautz : "X Rebirth: Plutarch Rising" was available in English, or any plans for that ? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rebirth-Plutarc ... 3833227036
X Rebirth: Plutarch Rising [German]
Just ordered the English collector's from Egosoft shop, since it's about the same price as on Amazon, presumably that means Egosoft get a better cut from it.

I agree, I don't think your problem is the game. It's something with the setup. I initially ran AP smooth as silk on a system half as powerful.

I believe it will register as a normal game. The Collectors Edition extras for the retail version are the physical items in the box, and are separate from the digital items in the Steam Collectors Edition.
Can you confirm that? Lots of people (including me) don't have any disk drives, let alone blu-ray drives, or at least not functioning ones. The boxed collector's edition would therefore be a bit of a waste
In the context of your comment, I'm not sure what you're asking me to confirm. I can confirm that unless something radical and unexpected changes, the boxed CE will register as the "normal" game on Steam, not as the Steam CE. Does that help you?

Yes, just wanted to clear that up, as "I believe" doesn't sound as... assuring as "confirm"
I just found out that the UK collectors edition is being sold by shopto.net who happen to be in the UK and they are selling it about £8 cheaper than the Ego-soft shop, if i had known the CE was going to be sold outside of the Ego-soft shop when i ordered it about 4 weeks ago i would have bought it from there, they guarantee delivery to my house before the 15th so i would have been able to play on the day of release using my steam key inside the box, i just hope the Ego-soft shop send it to me from Germany in plenty of time, ah well the second thing today that has angered me connected to this game and forum.

That's interesting because as I understood even Bernd wasn't sure if delivery of the physical products before the 15th was possible. I wonder if this is more promises by companies just to get you to cough up some dough or they know something we don't?
As I remember Bernd said if it was at all possible they would send out the boxes early so they'd arrive before the 15th but he wasn't sure if they could make it in time.

I have bought over 10 games from shopto.net and they have always arrived 1 day before release, i have never been let down by them, and most of those games had a steam key.
Hi, dear Egosoft and X-Pilots!
Already pre-ordered game via Steam.
Egosoft, can you confirm, that at 15 nov game will be released without russian translation despite the information in the Steam
I can confirm that a full Russian translation is underway. I'm afraid I don't know whether or not the publishers plan to make it available at the same time as the English version.

What about full spanish translation? also comming soon?
By the way, I made the preorder for the collectors edition about 1 month ago and now i see those are sold out, but I believe that the ones who made the preorder are guarantee right?

How exactly are non-English translations and localizations handled exactly (if you don't mind me asking)?
I'm guessing a bit here, but the studio you hire to voice the German version of the game also seems to handle the English translations. Who handles the Russian/Italian/Spanish/Chinese versions?
Admitting you have a problem is the first step in figuring out how to make it worse.
What about an Australian version? G'day mate! A dingo ate my teladi! Also we need some didgeridoo sound effects in there, And a ship that looks like a boomerang, And a race of mutant Koala bears!
