A DOS x86 based emulator, in fact the very same one GOG uses to get some old DOS games running.
I've used Dosbox before & can recomend it for anyone who likes old games. Tried it out a few months ago because I couldn't get the original System Shock running without it. My disk dates back to 1994 - game wouldn't even install without a DOS environment to keep it happy.

That's bad, my local shop caters much better for PC games, would estimate about 20% of the entire shop. 3 full height wall units for the new releases & a decent collection (about 2x the shelf space of the new stuff) of older titles being sold cheap, not second hand copies either.

But it is catch 22, if more people bought PC games from retailers, then retailers would sell more PC games.
That makes sense, I get all my games from my local shop so perhaps I'm one of the reasons they still offer a decent selection. Have certainly had no problems at all buying X games from them. Anyway would much rather my money went through local retailers, it keep them in business & provides employment for quite lot of people.
