The salvage pack puts the software in the Argon EQ docks.

The mod puts them in the Apricot EQ docks.

To me its Salvage software and thus not illegal, so stockable by all reputable equipment dealers. And since AMS is an Argon outfit, the Argon EQs get the business.
Is there any known conflicts then or something like script editor being enabled, because I am seemingly missing something. (also does the salvage pack claim the Avarice sector for itself, because in my installation it did).

I skimmed the setup.apricot.claim.xml, It seems to add the appropriate ware through the cycrows library to the Apricot Mapping Service Equipment Dock. That doesn't seem to be right

What is also mighty strange is that I see no lib.cycrow.addware in my script editor (enabled just to solve this), but there is lib.cy.addware with the same functionality.

Damn that scrip editor is wonky, might have done it better in VI. So if you edit the setup file to use lib.cy.addware and make it add to the appropriate station it works.

You might want to look into it. However your scripts are awesome

P.S. My lack of practice surely shows, I sound like a 10 year old even to myself. Sigh

I freely admit I ported the salvage pack to AP from TC as it was, and this is the first reported issue that I recall. (I was more interested in getting the mod working than the small packs, so just repacked them.)

You could be right. The scripts to add the ware may well have changed and I didnt notice.

Truth to tell, I never buy the claim software myself, I always cheat it in as already owned starting equipment, so I've probably never tested buying it in a long long time.

However, for anyone looking for a quick fix, you should be able to use to Cycrows cheat pack to add the Apricot Claim Software to any station you want and have it auto-stocked there.

I've been unable to get the following files to open.

Beamdock - v2
Cbeam - v2
Salvagepack 2.4

I've tried 7z, WinZip and Windows. All of them pretty much say the same, that they do not appear to be valid archives.

I've deleted and re-downloaded the files several times. Always the same result. :?

Those are TC versions in SPK format. Hence you need the Plugin Manager program installed in order to install them. They are NOT a zip.

The AP versions are in a different download site, and are zip versions instead, but are not designed for TC.

Hmm... okay.

I've got the Plugin Manager installed, but it does not see them. When I download the files they DL with a .zip extension on them and not an .spk.

It says spk on your website, but it downloads as a zip.

Edit: Took a screenshot snap of what's happening on my end of things.

Left click should start a download as an spk. .......oh, I see it, the name is correct, but when you get to change the name, the extension is changed by assumption.

Add the .spk to the end of the file name and select "all files". That really is stupid !

Behind the list is a dumb program someone else wrote and it doesnt work as well as I'd like, but I cant get it changed. I couldnt get the person to understand what an spk file was, so only the most common file types are handled properly. Pain, but at least download like this is possible, when for a while it wasnt.

Weird. But good deal.

Now I can have my beams back again as I journey off for adventure throughout the Universe.

Even better, I can get rid of WinZip.

Hi.

I am looking for the AP version too, but I can't find it. I am looking here http://apricotmappingservice.com/ in the AP section.

I do still have 2 files in spk format from the time I installed it in TC (v1 and v 2).

What are you looking for ?

The AP versions are more up to date than the TC versions, but off hand I've no idea if the TC spk's will install into AP properly or not. You would have to try. Off hand I forget the reasons for doing new zips, but there are differences between TC and AP, and some of the scripts did get changed for AP. Everything that did get changed, was recreated as a zip and put in the AP download list.

If its on the TC list but not on the AP list, then it never got changed for AP. TC Zips could be unzipped into addon instead of terran conflict folder, but spk's would depend on how plugin manager handles the games.

I was looking for an up to date version for AP, but any that works will do for me.
Could you point me to the zipped version for AP, I can't find it.

Regardless, if you want me to, I can try the spk (v2 I suppose) with the plugin manager and see if it works.

Version of what exactly ?

This thread is for all my script packs and mini mods, so you need to be specific about what you are talking about.

Sorry, I see what you mean:), somehow I forgot to mention the name of the script.

I am looking for Beam Dock.

Also, I am also after the script that lets you beam cargo that is lost in space into your ship, I think it was one of yours but I m not sure.

Beam Dock and Cbeam are both in the Salvage Pack.

For AP, I only updated the full pack, not the individual scripts.

If you just want those 2 scripts, unzip into a temp folder, and extract just the 4 scripts and move them to the addon scripts folders, and the t folder.

But the whole pack gives all the salvage commands in their most up to date form. Anything you dont want to use, just dont give it a hotkey.

I'm using the PHQ extended patch v4, but my Terran PHQ has a 0/0 storage space, and doesn't seem to want to RE or build ships now.

Other mods i'm using is the TRP, oh, playing AP 2.5..and that's it aside from Marine Repairs and a couple ship spks.

Edit: Oh, also, I placed the zip into Addon/types as the install instructions said

Oops, I missed an upgrade.

The 03 patch steam did recently contained a phq file change to cater for the Terran PHQ.

I've updated my version of the file, including changing the terran hq to work the same as the modified ordinary hq.

v5 of the patch is now uploaded. Unzip into Terran conflict folder.

You will need to delete your existing TPHQ for the changes to take effect. So install the file, load the game, delete the TPHQ (after you remove anything thats on it), then create a new one. The new one should work correctly.

Thanks, gonna see if the 700k storage size is enough for me for now, I don't use missle much so I don't think i'll need anything larger....unless the Valhalla uses more than just the little bit extra that i'm thinking of

Edit: yer webpage also seems to still only have v4, unless v5 is included?

Edit2: Ok, i see v5 is up

Edit3: Still doesn't work, 0/0 and no blueprints, and i doubt i need both v4 and v5 installed at the same time.

Edit4: Tried without TRP installed, still 0/0 and no blueprints, trying to add a ware freezes game.

I was using your PHQ Extended for X3TC, in AP, then i upgraded to your version 5 for AP and now neither the original or terran HQ will recycle, ships. I havent tried adding blue prints to see if the build command is there or not. Any clue as to whats going on?

Edit- Im playing X3AP 2.5.1 if that makes any difference. Really hope you release an update or fix soon =(

Thats odd. Usually a PHQ will continue to work as the hq file specified when it was created, regardless of that file being changed.

I think I can understand why the Terran wont work, as its id number in the file changes in my file. But why the race hq changed is a mystery, unless the exe changed to allow dynamic updates of the file by egosoft patches.

First thing to try is to remove everything off both hq's, delete them using the cheat pack, then drop 2 new ones. The new ones should pick up the new hq file, and work correctly.

There always has been a problem with existing hq's when updating this file, in so far as existing ones wont pick up the changes, so its always been a case of changing that file forcing a recreation of the existing hq. So its still the first thing to try.
