Boom!

You know you really should hit ramdom and see what happens. I think your fleet is big enough :)

Also I think you missed my question earlier about how you determine which ship is "yours" for repairing with the laser. You do jump around alot and it seems that term might not be so subjective.

Perhaps via a take-over script to claim in in your name?
Anything that involves him putting a *modified* tag on his game is a nono.

on that subject will the xenon respawn without their shipyard? will the shipyard respawn? is it really safe to set up shop there?

I'm starting to think we should ask the Mods if they can change NUCKLEAR-SLUG's name to Squiddy McSquid :D

GOD will respawn the shipyard eventually and Xenon ships from other sectors will migrate to 101 to defend it

Squiddy might have had a few bad days, but I feel obliged to warn against spur of the moment trips into Xenon sectors.

Sooner or later, you'll come to the one time there's a K there to meet and greet.

Still, looks like you had fun. Nice job! :)

Had my first experience of a hiding K today entered the Xenon Sector north of blackhole sun (in my Centaur) since i was going to explore the northern Split sectors a bit. lo and behold i enter the system and im greeted by 1 K and 2 Q's they are slow and i dodge out of their way by flying upwards and towards the east gate. at that moment 4 more Q's Show up from the north of the sector and hound me relentlessly with fighters until i exit the system surprisingly i made it out with 90% Hull due to Squiddys RSLG manouver

Buy a Boreas - kit it out with as many Gauss and Ion cannons as you possibly can... jump that in first ;)

As long as there are only a couple of Ks, Js or Qs lurking by the gate - they're in for a nasty surprise. 10Gj worth of shielding and an equal mix of Gauss and Ion cannons does considerably more damage than the equivalent number of PPCS... lacks the range, but if you're jumping into a Xenon sector *shrugs*

Apologies, not much to show for now but suffice to say that major mischief has been perpetrated recently, the results of which I will share with you probably tomorrow. Hopefully you'll find it of some interest.

I'll also get around to updating my asset list which I've been studiously avoiding doing as it's getting a little unwieldy. Meantime a catchup of some questions. Further apologies to anyone I missed.
Novalith wrote:I do have a question if you have some time, what do you consider "your ship" for your repair gun rule?
I consider it to be whatever I'm chiefly using. So I might hop into something else to do a particular job but it'll still class as whatever it is I go back to once that job is done.
Necrosexual wrote:Squid only has 400k in his account right?
Yep, but as Legionnaire rightly suspects I've got a couple million floating around in my complexes as they're all intter-dependent on each other and there's a need to maintain a float in there that kinda sloshes back and forward between them.
Flashand wrote:Now one silly little question, why havnt you floated southeast more and "upgraded" those "Recruits"?
Colour me confused..
lastebil wrote:Btw SLUG, do you run on 10x or just 6x for added safety when you speed up time?
Default 6x. I've long suspected that the vast majority of people that complain about the autopilot are trying to 10x seta thru an asteroid debris field and wondering why it's not working out. 6x is plenty and causes me very few autopilot issues. In fact I crash more than the autopilot does.
vbruzual wrote:How did you come with the decision on Barren Shores? I did it myself after analizing an asteroid database and looking for local supplies, and it turns out to be the best place. Lots of high yield silicon mines and good local supply of raw resources, so you don't need closed loops (more crystals to the hub since you dont have to put Solar plants in your complex)
Just happened to be visiting the Pirate base that used to be there and went asteroid scanning while I was in the area since they're all pretty close together.
Spurious wrote:Any plans to make use of the sector now?

I have plans that would make Dr Evil flinch... more on that soon.

Q. How much have you actually left out of the narative ? I noticed several times references to large numbers of missiles, but no-where before that did you account for having them. (Or in at least 1 case, the ship carrying them.) Just wondered.

If i can draw your attention to the end of the final post on page 39
With the massive storage requirements gone that freed up a lot of ships and I decided to downsize my fleet to a minimum for the time being and use the cash to invest in a support complex. I opted to sell three of my M7Ms and retain one of the Cobras for now as they have a bit more speed and when you're doing hit and run on core sectors that helps. I also sold three of the mammoths and had a clear out of booty from my Hub. Net result was a fair wad of cash which I used to build my current engineering masterpiece..

http://dbbr17626.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/plex5.jpg

.. 10x Flail Barrage and 10x Hammer Heavy Torpedo for a whole heap of explody goodness and all for just a shade over 90 Million which even left me enough to fix the hefty dent on the front of 'Thunderchild'.. It turns out tho I may have overdone this one a tad as it does seem to be cranking out torpedoes at a fair old rate of knots..
I think that explains it ;)
