Well thats just great, I ordered from steam thinking I would get to preload and actually play it on friday but no it seems that we wont even be able to start downloading the files untill friday night / saturday morning if their countdown is correct, with my crud connection I reckon my hard copy will arrive before I finish downloading the game.JFJohnny5 wrote:I put in a ticket with Steam to ask about the pre-load of TC. Hello John,
Thank you for contacting Steam Support.
We apologize for any confusion - this game is not available for pre-load.
I wish Egosoft would have confirmed pre-load before announcing it to all of us...

An explanation is definitely in order. Flat out lying to customers on the front page is unacceptable. I love the X series and all but now I feel ripped off, especially with my slow internet connection...Frontpage wrote: X³: Terran Conflict will also be available for pre-load from Steam starting one week before release.
I agree, I love the X3 and am really looking forward to playing TC, but this really sours my launch day excitement. I've been thinking I'd get to play as soon as the game unlocked for over a month.sasha123456789 wrote:JFJohnny5 wrote:I put in a ticket with Steam to ask about the pre-load of TC. Actually, I'd imagine that's a fairly low (extra) load for their servers - X isn't exactly mainstream. They do start to groan when something like COD4 is releasedshireknight wrote:I must admit it does seem a bit odd that Valve would want everyone to start downloading the game all at the same time, I would have thought it would be much less of a strain on their servers to let people download the majority of the programme at their leisure over the week long period before the game is released -clearly Valve have a lot of faith that their servers can take 1000 people all trying to grab 8-9 GB's of info at one time
