Mass Effect Legendary edition. Was cheap so ~6.70 CAD (~$4.99 USD). 96 gb download. Don't regret buying it. ME1 looks way better. Some stuff is different than the old game. The old game definitely has it's place but it's a bit dated.

Was totally hooked to it. Played 1-3 with several toons (specs, gender) and recently add ME Andromeda to it because of the rumors that ME4/5 is coming with referecnes to all previous ME games. MEA is different but still very interesting, in particular lorewise. Lot of references to ME1-3.

New game (I'm probably late to the party)

V1.0 of Caves of Qud

Apparently it went early release ages ago, and has been in development for about 15 years O_o

Steam - https://store.steampowered.com/app/333640/Caves_of_Qud/

GOG - https://www.gog.com/en/game/caves_of_qud

Its an old school roguelike, but apparently the quality of the game is superb, on Steam its already at Overwhelmingly positive.

I read one of the reviews on steam and was sold ..
Trained a sentient sludge to follow me

Grew the sludge until it became powerful enough to inflict random status effects to anything it would attack

Sludge attacks a legendary enemy, randomly procs the "In Love" status effect causing him to fall in love with me

The sludge, jealous of our newfound love, proceeds to murder us both

10/10 would do the sludge love triangle again
:D

I bought it just to support the guys who have put so much love into it for many years, but have no doubt it will be something I play for years to come as its proc gen done really well by all accounts.

Freespace 2: Inferno R2 mod - one of the oldest running mod (20+ years) got R2 release around Christmas:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLhSROPJjy8

https://www.hard-light.net/forums/index ... ic=99492.0

Whole mod (as well as updating FS2 to modern standard via open source code project) works great on Freespace 2 GOG version.

To be even more interesting, I see similarities between Inferno and X4: Foundation storyline and setting:

(FS2 faction - X4 Faction)
Earth Alliance - Terrans
Terrans - Argons
Neo Terran Front - OTAS (from X4:RE mod) or Plutarch from X-Rebirth
Vasudans - fusion of Borons and Paranid
Vasudan Hammer of Light - HOP
Shivans - fusion of Xenon and Khaak

Like in X, Sol was cut out of the rest of galaxy (by Shivan attack).

To be honest, I always wanted an open universe space-sim that would play/feel similar to Freespace 2...and the dream came true with X4:Foundation :D

If you ever played and enjoyed Subnautica then here's a game for you, it's called Astrometica, basically it's Subnautica but instead of being based in an ocean it's based in space. I've only played for a few hours, and it plays pretty good with no issues, the only problem is it's another early access game.

I once bought Starsector.

Some people will certainly be familiar with the game, as it is somehow related to the Egosoft games. At least it's also a space game ;) I haven't really played it yet, just watched a few Lets Plays. It certainly seemed worth a closer look to me.

Visually you can't expect too much, it's just 2D Top Down and only a small development team. However, it is only available via the developer's website (see link above) :)

Anyone here played

Steam Engine Simulator? https://store.steampowered.com/app/2381 ... Simulator/

The base game is a reproduction of a toy steam engine (base game is free). Its pretty fun if you are into physics. Anyway, for the last I think two years, the dev has been updating the game to add a DLC on top (which is now out and is available for a low price) In the dlc, you have to power a town, and learn to use the steam engine efficiently. It has several difficulty levels, (some people had trouble with the normal difficulty) You can also upgrade parts of the engine. and maintain it. and some quests. So worth checking out if you are interested.

PS, the dev spent ages upgrading the sound engine, some of the physics, so they took a while to fully release the DLC and update the base game in the process. If you are interested in that side, the dev has released a few videos on what they been doing. So worth a look if your interested. So a lot of work was done, even though the game looks simple.

Have yet to really get a hang of the controls as I did not habe that much time for it, but it certainly is fun and you can really customize your ships in a great many ways that make them feel useful and unique.

It's been out of the EA for a while now. But the good construction/strategy/economic simulation Foundation is now available in V1.0

Just in case anyone here hasn't noticed it yet. If you like Settlers-type games, as I do from time to time, it's definitely worth a closer look. I'll make a new game for the weekend. 8)

The download size is bonkers, I think if I was to touch this, it will be on sale. Besides, I'm still having fun playing openmw with modded content. So, plenty to keep me busy

I will continue to wait for Skyblivion.

The planned release date is this year, so the waiting time is foreseeable. At least I hope so

That looks good

Edit,

Another reason not to touch the new game, no mod support, so DOA. either that, they want people to buy paid mods.

Playing the Oblivion remastered version is a bit weird. Got lost a few times. UI is a bit different. Some of the characters look a bit freaky. Basically the same game. Need to try the old version to see differences. Harder to spot plants.

Theres mods already. UE5 games are moddable. #1 game on steam. Need an ok gpu and cpu to play the game.

Enshrouded has just had a new update, I haven't been able to try it out just yet because I'm letting the game compile the new shaders, which is why I'm posting this. If you sometimes play the game, you want to start it up and let it compile those shaders, as it can take some time for the game to do just this, while you can do this while playing the game it's a lot faster doing it from the game menu. By the way, it's a pretty extensive update.
