That's a nice list of Enhancements and Fixes there Xenon_Slayer, thanks for posting. My gut feeling is that us Public beta testers might just get a peek this time next week... :)

@Darrosquall: There is more to it than just the cockpits, at least based on discussions around the topic in the past. Even "just" the cockpits is not likely to be a small amount of work.

@XS: Nice list, I am sure the side bar menu will be warmly welcomed by a lot of people.

engine built by egosoft allow everything they want to do. Maybe the work is not small as I intended, ok, but it's something they have to do. Would be better, at this point, to have just a "cockpit skunk" but the possibility to drive all the ships.

While, ultimately, being able to fly more than one ship would be great, my preference for developer resource would be to add proper Capital ship bridges.

I'd like to see the Skunk land on the, let's call it "Engineering Deck", as now, but then the player takes a lift / rail car / something to access the Main bridge. Having said bridge have a near 360 degree FoV, as the player walks around and I'd be a happy bunny. I'd add that if the player isn't on the "Engineering Deck" then maybe said desk should retract so the bay is unobstructed, that way drones - and maybe one day other docked ships - would have clear access :)

The larger ships in Rebirth, so everything from a Rahanas to an Arawn, do feel pretty huge and powerful vs. smaller vessels. What's missing is that feeling of being in command, so lording it up on the bridge with an excellent view of surrounding space would do it for me.

I will say though that the new External view might give us a greater appreciation of our larger ships, so that's a good move.

It's interesting actually how much detail ES put on certain ships, which certainly hints at greater intended functionality. I.e. The Arawns giant hanger doors next to the Skunk landing pad, the smaller rear doors that allow for very small ship (drone) access, certainly suggests this ship was designed to use more than just drones.

Re: flying other ships. I suspect this is more likely a feature of the next game rather than Rebirth. Possibly modders can work some miracles though...

@Darrosquall: Let us not debate it here yet again, the multiple player flyable ship discussion has been done to a death already. IMO It is not a have to do item (at least not for X-Rebirth). I believe it is on the list of items "not likely to be done for X-Rebirth" based on comments from Egosoft staff about the required level of effort.

Priorities,guys...

what's the point of driving 1000 ship if you don't have end-game content?!

Also imho the game could perfectly work with just 1 ship, it only need some more customization :)

Scoob, that sounds fun - possibly improved on by going 3rd person view with the ability to wear a neat gray uniform with matching minions.

I'll also hope they will address the problem of Yisha head getting bigger and smaller when she talks and totally freaking me out,especially during the night :oops:
I expect her head to explode any moment and the game turning into Dead Space... :oops:

Doubt we'll see multiple player ships in X:R considering how the upgrade system works (which is supposed to fill the role of buying different ships, supposedly). I hope this might change if they ever make a stand-alone expansion like TC/AP.

Just popped on really quickly to say THANK YOU. I (and other forum-goers) really appreciate getting a little heads-up on the change-log. Even if not everything makes it in to this patch, even if it will take a little longer for the patch to come out, I can't express enough how awesome it feels to at least know something good is on the way. The lack of information has been... stifling, and has led to a lot of vaguely insane behavior from us akin to cabin fever. Now... Who wants a pancake!!!!!!!

ok, a compromise then: more customization, original skunk with two floors and "bridge commander cap ships".

i smiled while i was looking at the patch note.

yet, X:R has a long way to go.

sooner or later, they'll have to deal with a "End-Game" feature (End-Game in a sandbox is quite irrelevant).
some thingS you can't deal in 1h of playtime.
They have plenty of those missions in X3, just need to code replicas for XR


no, i don't point out "The Hub"
but... somehow, it has to come back. Like Giant M2+ super destroyers/carriers battles.

+1 indeed.

Although, there is already something to contribute to end-game and our joy added in the new patch:

* Added "civil war" behaviour between Pluatrch and Heart of Albion in Albion <--- this can be awesome.

Not saying it will be enough, but it is a good start on adding things to make Rebirth quite more interesting!

Sandbox means that the player has tools to modify the world themselves and create how they play.

End-game is something to do when you reach the maximum height X:Rebirth allows you to,so a huge fleet and lots of money...

So how is the "sandbox" definition related to the fact that having more to do is irrelevant? With that logic,they may as well remove everything else from the game,give you infinite money and leave only station construction around the place...it would be still sandbox,so the game itself as it is now would be irrelevant,right? :lol:
Cause as long as it is sandbox people are happy,right? :D
