If your going to lock move burn down one thread in the general forum then you have to do the same for all of them!!! Unless you expect nobody to obey the "don't post anything even remotely related to scripting or modding in the general forum" rule that is stricly enforced by cbj lol. Cbj must be from signapore lol for real!!!
Khaak khaak khaak KHAAK!!!! The part that really stands out is where mik "balser" says "We need every hand we can get against these khaak" HAHAHAHA!!!!! I always laugh at that part:-) And now you will too. If you were in denial over your dirty mind before you read this you won't be now.

Like many people, I use many signed scripts and a few carefully chosen unsigned ones. So I am between the last two options.

I think the signed and unsigned script progression is a Very powerful aspect of the X2 game. It keeps it alive! :D

And allows more enhancement than a company team could do by themselves. :)

P.S. We do need a place where questions about use of scripts, at least signed ones, could be placed by people that are intimidated by the regular scripting forum. If not the General forum, then a new one for script use questions as opposed to script writing questions. 8)

ahhh wrong vote, hit signed but I do use unsigned, Xai scripts - AI, Trader etc. Put in the new Gunner Script but never used it, just finished plot after a re-install and promtly uninstalled.

Wanted to add that there is a tip Elite used. Place your missions very deep into the game. Hide individual ones that are triggered by the time you have played. In Elite just the rumour of another mission available later in the game kept people playing for months!

Will give the game a longer play time line

I agree with this idea !

If I remember rightly,in X-Tension there were a couple of missions that didn´t trigger until after about 100 play hours, anyhow I think you are right in saying it would keep a lot of people playing longer.

I am relatively new to the X-universe, and am playing only the official game and updates (normal play level). I have finished the story line, and am now gearing up to clean out all the bad guys. I'll probably start looking for plug-ins and other modifications after doing some damage with my future destroyer (maybe a Boron Ray? Looks a lot like MOYA from "The Peacekeepers" TV series).

Everything i use is signed... grown out of the unsigned scripts now since the signed ones do almost everything needed

Edit: can we have a Vote on which signed scripts are peoples favorites?

As soon as anything gets signed, I install it, never use unsigned stuff. The only exception is the gunnery crew's script, I haven't installed it yet, I'm having a think after all the 'horror stories' which have been going around about the evil AI with this script, and am considering that I might wait until I buy an Oddy before installing.

With regards to scripts/modding;

I use what i need. I have most of the official scripts, but occasionally I'll go seek one from other sources. Station mover was one, and the space fly hatchery another.

As for what do I want to achieve from X2;

Nothing! I play cos I love the game. I have stopped playing, and in fact the game is no longer installed, but thats only cos of a few PC issues forcing a reinstall of WINXP

That's about right........

Merry Christmas everyone and a Happy New Year!!!

I only use signed scripts, but always apply my bullet-speed mod (2x speed, standard range) for more enjoyable combat (what mr M3 wingman? You HIT something!?!? I say, well done sir! :D )

Also using my hit-effect mod to improve performance, which even though I've now got an AMD 64 3500+ & 6800GT o/c, i.e. a pretty fast machine, FPS still benefits enormously IMHO, especially in XI missions and the like.

This is my fifth game. I have close to 40 factories (mostly SPP, a few crystal fabs and even less silicon mines), I have Centaurs on defense everywhere, over 200 mill in the bank and I'm Ace of Aces 2nd grade. Whenever I reach a beyond the level where I can get the biggest M2 ship (I already have one Ody and one Phoenix), I allow myself the priviledge to drive the ship that I think is really beyond all M2 ships: an Osprey with around 400 in speed and great rudder control. Why? I like to dog fight. I hate turret-only ships (i.e. M2s). Can't run "acrobatically"after ships (your more like a thrown brick), can't shoot with your mouse button. Yuck. This is why I use only one signed script, Babyface's Engine Speed & Rudder Optimization Pack and I use it only on my Osprey.

I really think there was a need for a dog fighting top ship that can catch up with Xenon Ks (like the Dragon can) and be able to face them with at least two guns AND without loosing all of its parts... (unlike the Dragon...). Thanks Babyface.

Since 2004 (X2), capping ships (without the whole boarding with trained marines complexity) is still my favorite thing to do. :)

I use all the signed script and some self made stuff that i have made for my own purposes. Most of it just trade or transport scripts and or corase

HRS (get ti below it actualy makes M1s usefull) which both my M1s have and is invaluable for all the xenon incusions Ive undertaken (damage ships are alwasy told imediately to return to the carrer for repaires)

Also have a script im working on for TLs to MASS transfer cargo. I have the prototype running in my current game carting ore from central Trading docks in ore ritch sectors to my HQ in Bala Gi. So far they been very good but i still got a lot of things to smooth out.

I do also have some auto mining script I had been workign on . I had found others wanting in some areas mostly in postitioning the ship without it going splat into the roid but close enough to actualy hit it with the laser (hardest part which I still have not compleatly eliminated be easyer if they increased the lunacresly short range of the Mining drill)

I not for full mods though like new ships and beam weapons. but scripts that make management easyer Im all for
i7-930 2.8Ghz quad core
6gig DDR3-1600 3 channel Ram
Nvida GTX470
64gig SSD / 1TB Hitachi
