"work somewhere else for me"
I've spent hours doing nothing but "work somewhere else for me"
People on stations have to be moved INDIVIDUALLY and it's horrible.

Building stations. Not designing them, but building them.
I don't use the build account thingy, so I order my freighters around to buy/ship Claytronics, Hull Parts, E-Cells, Field Coils, Advanced Electronics, Shield Components and Turret Components.
Specifically, I don't like the design of the following loop:
I don't use the build account thingy, so I order my freighters around to buy/ship Claytronics, Hull Parts, E-Cells, Field Coils, Advanced Electronics, Shield Components and Turret Components.
Specifically, I don't like the design of the following loop:
- See how many Field Coils specifically my station construction site needs and keep that exact number in mind
- If needed, enter "Field Coils" in the search field
- Click a freighter
- Find the cheapest Field Coils that also sells enough of them. If needed, zoom in to get the "I sell 40 Field Coils for cheap!" offers out of the window.
- Now for the most annoying part. Get the slider to the exact number we found at step 1. Forgot how many we need? Get back to the station and figure it out. Slide it to the exact number or take your hand off the mouse to enter it. I really wish there was some sort of a copy/paste mechanism that just lets me click a button right here that means something like "get the exact number I found out in step 1".
- Click the freighter to dump its freight at the building storage.
- As far as I know, you need a manager for it. This requires at least one module to be built, so you have a bootstrap problem here.
- Building is slow, which means I have the time to buy the parts in the entire universe. Station managers don't have the range for that.
- For some parts, I have stations that produce them. They can be far away, so basically the same point.
- I don't trust the manager to buy Claytronics, HP and EC first in a manner that ensures the station is always building.
- I don't trust the manager to use the freighters efficiently.
- Building is slow, so I don't want to designate entire freighters to that station building process only. I have flexible personal freighters that I order to do all sorts of things all the time, building is only one of the things they do.

The first item in your list is wrong, which negates most of the following items. No manager is needed for building a station. I build all my stations by supplying some credits and letting the NPC's sell material to my build supply. Occasionally, if I see a good deal on those resources somewhere else that beats the price I'm paying the NPC's, I'll order one of my freighters to buy and supply that ware to my build site. Other than that, I let building progress while I go and do more fun things, like stealing ships.Fluggonaut wrote: ↑Sun, 1. Sep 24, 21:04...
Reasons I don't use the station building account:

Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.

That sounds great, I'll give it a shot next time.
The other "least favourite activity" I have is reacting to piracy. First things first, where is the global default response option "Ignore". That would solve most of the problems.
Other than that, a keybinding for "jump to call on map" would be great. F for "answer", H (or whatever) for "jump to map".
What I usually do:

What I usually do:
- Pause the game
- Find the goddamn ship on the map / in the stations list
- See what's up and issue a dock command to the nearest station if necessary (rarely the case)
- Unpause and wait for the F timer to go down
- Cancel the flee order
- Potentially order a fleet that's around to kill the pirate

I have no issue with building. I do use similar "MORT" approach to get cheapest and most plentiful wares from the entire universe.Fluggonaut wrote: ↑Sun, 1. Sep 24, 21:04 Building stations. Not designing them, but building them.

Station Build missions did not tend to require much. I had seven freighters: two L for Hull Parts and Claytronics, and five M for the other five resources. They always had some in their cargobay. Easy to click to enable filter for the ware. "Sell" enough to build storage and refill the bay from NPC. Buying more than the current need is where my procedure differs.

If you double click on the centre line of the slider the cursor changes to text input & you can simply type in the precise number you need. As for remembering the exact amounts required, I use my phone to take a photo of what's needed & keep that image on the phone's screen for reference until my ship(s) have loaded everything.Fluggonaut wrote: ↑Sun, 1. Other: Tuning
I don't mind spending the resources on rerolling but having to click 40 times to end up in an acceptable range, for all the components of a ship, on all ships of a fleet? Last weekend I've spend more than one hour rerolling stats for just the capitals of _one_ of my fleets. No fun, but necessary with v7.
