- old Terran/Argon hero ship (R.Gunner?) (0:21)
- X-Shuttle (0:32)
- old Terran/Argon ship (0:37), looks a bit like human version of Nodan
- Split M0 ? (0:39)

- unknown, possibly very old Terran fighter from early Terraformer conflict (0:46)

That would definitely fit the free update feature: "New Xenon Ships: Experience new ships from the X universe main antagonists in a way that will surprise even veteran X4 pilots."

Hi
I'm really intrigued and a bit hyped :)
I have the secret hope that we will be able to revive some of the ancient timeline arc of the previous games.
I've try to start a new y X3 TC game but the UI like the map is really too small on 1440P and yeah I know it would take some play time that I "prefer" to spend on X4 :wink:

Patch looks great! More ships & more sectors is always neat.
Unsure about the DLC, I hope the unlocks from the scenario's aren't just for us, but also for the NPC's. Will need more info on the DLC & what it does before making a decision.

I hope the mysterious entity or group are the Sohen, or another deeper lore pull perhaps.
After all they do have abilities to alter reality IIRC (or at the very least have transcended physical limits)

Here are my guesses for "historical moments" in trailer:

0:21 - beggining of X-BTF, the launch of X-Suttle or shortly after X-Shuttle jumped away?
0:37 - Winterblossom launch from Mars?
0:39 - one of Split families feud? Launch of one of prototype battleship that got lost (I recall some mentions about those in X2/X3 ship descriptions)
0:46 - first Xenon incursion into Sol? (the one that triggered Terrans to build X-Shuttle), or the same as below
0:48 - X-Shuttle defending Terran station - possibly the Yaki/Beryll Xenon invasion of Sol in between X3AP and X4?
2:01 - Final battle of X-BTF
2:05 - one of Paranid-Xenon battles mentioned in X2/X3 sector descriptions?
2:14 - Xenon attack on Antigone Station (start of first Argon-Xenon war)

Really Egosoft, a story DLC?
What i like in the x-games so far is, that you're not forced to do some stories most of the time or maybe just snome rather easy snippets. Instead you play in an open sandbox and realise, what you want to do. The DLC seems to force me to play stories in short campaigns, which i hope i just misunderstood. If its true, then the DLC isnt made for me at all. Instead, the free patch adds many things im positive about, like an endgame crysis and hopefully harder and more diverse Xenon. I dont know how many of your customers think like me, but if there are enough its an bigger economic risk, then you normally take. I really hope you have thought it through.
Intel i7 8700, Gtx 1070, 16gb RAM. I think i'm ready for X4. Bring it on, Egosoft! [edit 2025: this signature didnt age well :lol: ]

There is also a shot of a modern day Nova protecting a station that seems to be labled as Antigoni...
Based on whats been said though, it sounds like these events are reality bending? I sort of hope not
Even if that could lead to us finally getting some Sohen contact, I feel like just a set of ''greatest hits'' would be preferable

Please don't let it be another rebirth where devs wanted to make different game what people wanted. Ended up broken test bed for various technologies that was atrocious to play...

Reimagined Teladi and Argon Capital Ships
Actual good change. Argon and Telladi ships were first ships probably made in new paradigm and you could see that. Teladi ships didn't look that bad but Argon ones were atrocious even more so than paranids. The worst are novas. From sexy fighter in X3 to junk pile in X4.

Yes please. X4 needs a lot more map. Even with all expansions map could still use more room to play with.

New story. I sleep. Enchanced Button Remapping ? This is the real shit. the amount of hairs i pulled out trying to map buttons and inability to map few different function to key combos was insane choice. In x3 i could literally map ALL functions to PS3 pad and play like that game. In X4 i couldn't map shit as there were no key combos. Moreover in X3 there was even ability to differentiate between hold and single press which mean that switching missiles and launching them could be done with single button (press to switch, hold to fire) and stuff like d-pad with that missile button could adjust weapon on/off.

Seriously this is the biggest change for me in new expansion/7.0

Improvements i would wish to see in X4 in 7.0 or future:
- going back to weapon is cargo/swapping weapons from cargo to hardpoint on the fly like in X3.
- same with shields and other ship systems
- ammunition making comeback. finite but high damage vs infinite but low damage. Fast or atriction etc which don't exist in X4 unlike X3.
- streamlining a bit trading/mining etc. less playing around with different ui and more "dude go mine stuff and don't bother me, find your own god damn place in my empire". It is more UI/UX improvement than mechanics changes.
- futher improvement to AI when it comes to fleet flying, squad flying etc. Basically homeworld style where AI is dead on on how to fly in formation. Line formation with high evasive = loose line where AI will wave and bob around trying not to get hit but less damage on target. Wall formation and agressive = fighter don't take evasive actions. super high dps but super low survival.
- more breath of chooses between ships. Most of the time there are two variants and each of them is locked to some faction. Even then outside of few ships those variants aren't really that much different. elite sentinel should have a bit more outside plating than raider, Vanguard should have extra weapon hardpoint, raider would have lowest armor and weapon hardpoints but its back would be more massive providing extra engine or something.
- addition to small carriers. Like 2-3 s ships and improvement to carrier AI. Right now Carriers AI is dumb as hell and they can't manage properly fleet.
- rework of formations in fleet. If i assign s ships to l ship they should be close to L ship instead of being miles away. If I assign ship formation to L ship all of them should follow command to defend L ship rather than leader or engage what leader attacks and defend themselves while at it. Right now often leader doesn't engage anything while defending ships get hit until they die as leader is not attacked.

My biggest question is : those gimmick rewards for the timeline missons will be included for existing saves or only for newly started games ?
Already that this DLC seems quite thin, if you must start a new game to get those rewards the dlc will be worthless for people having old saves.
On the other hand the 7.0 seems juicy. :-D

The content of the DLC does not realy appeal to me.
I'm a bit disappointed with what I currently know and deduct from the teaser.
Wait and see for me.
I still have kingdom end content to explore yet... Not in a rush for new content at the moment :)
