I'm really curious as to how you'll implement this.

The "advanced" player currently has zero issues wiping out all factions from the map, if he chose to. It's just boring.

Don't get me started on terraforming :D

Because the X series doesn't simulate the same things as the Elite series. And you're right: not the same games, and not the same aim.

There's little actual exploration in the X series, because the whole known galaxy is already settled. Instead of focusing on planets and whatnot, I personally would prefer to gain the ability to create new accelerators towards new founds sectors within the same cluster. Thus give birth to new exploratory mechanics. In essence, develop a given system akin to how Sol is setup. Not all system can be made that way though.
