Is the station (food + meds) spam issue fixed? Could not find it in the (very long) change log.

It was one of the issues covered by
  • Improved balancing and robustness of in-game economy (including prices, volume and production rates of Engine Parts, Hull Parts and Smart Chips).

I have found a weird bug, my ships are moving many little boxes from one point to another, now. Expected behaviour is them taking a hand full of energy cells for a walk. :D
So far, it plays as promising as the patch notes are reading. It was worth the time you invested it seems :)

Free traders or station-based?

Tamina's "bug report" was a joke, right? I gathered it meant traders are now taking much more, as they should. Right?

What at great list of changes! Well done and seems worth the wait. Just typically I won't have the time for yet another couple of days to try it out.

Yeah it was a joke. They are actually moving wares in great bulks, now. That's great. :D Sorry for causing false alarm :(

Yeah, no, i got that it being a bug report was a joke and you were reporting good news. Wanted to know if the traders trading wares in bulk were free traders or station-based. Both should do it as long as there are trades available, but would be nice to get confirmation.

I am still investigating, it is too soon to give a definit okay but station traders seem to work pretty well so far. They are moving greater amounts of the expected products :)

I don't know about free traders but I have an accidental built station in Teladi space, near Argon space, producing hull parts from reinforced metals (Argon only product): In 2.5 no NPC sold them to my station, ever. I would have expected some NPCs ships trading with my station in 2.6 by now, but maybe it just takes some time.

Btw. to my surprise the stations are actually fireing now, too. My... my fleet... :O I was in the middle of aquiring a bit real estate in HOP space. :O

I have not tried it yet. My game is modded. I reduced my mods to get rid of custom traders and few other things. Just using no encounters, no highways, and a couple of other mods that should not affect things like messages in red etc. Hopefuly no conflicts before mods get updated.

I see in the change log they addressed that thing where NPC ships would get stuck at the exit or entrance of a highway due to traveling along the sides of it. I guess the fix will not get messed up by me no having highways.

I am wondering if the changes to ware values etc will mean my templates for complexes will need to be tweaked. I guess so. The person that made the Station Calculator will probably update the values in time.

I see the log says something about ships less likely to leave their assigned area. I so hope this works because I post fleets at gates to Xenon space to defend and they have a habit of chasing ships in or seeing one come out and chasing it across the universe to another Xenon sector. Either way, my ships would usually die while I was building a station or something. Drove me up the wall more than any other issue with the game.

I prefer less frequent updates like this. I used to use F4SE on my Fallout 4, but then Beth began sending updates out really often for their naff a$$ shop thing, which made for a very annoying routine of updating stuff.

p.s. My install is Steam. No way in Steam to tell without launching the game if Steam has applied the beta update. Have to go to install folder and check properties/details of the .exe and if its version number and date are the new patch. Mine is. Radeon drivers updated, X4 updated, first coffee of the day beginning to kick in. It's X time.

edit. Just loaded my save. Save was 2.50 and version is 2.60, so that's good. I was docked at a trading station after a long session. FPS was getting low. Now it is significantly higher. I sometimes notice FPS at stations improves after restarting the game, but not by this much. 25-30 FPS is now 35-50 FPS (I doubt the new Radeon driver is responsible for that much improvement).

Just noticed one thing different and acting up. When managing ships and using the shift key to select multiple to assign, often only one of the ships gets the order. It seems to be if the list moves due to something changing like a ship docking etc. If the list moved I re-select and all ships seem to get the order. This could be an issue if sending lots of ships to fight and only one actually goes. Will have to keep a close on on it. FPS on the stations is still up half an hour in.

Now off to my platform at the Xenon gate in Holy Vision, because I have heard rumours that station turrets shoot at things more often now. Should be entertaining. ---- I got there and a K came through as I arrived. Station turrets opened up on it really quickly, whereas before they were very slow to respond, or would not fire at all. There was a large build up of of Xenon P, M and N behind that gate when to bed last night. They all poured through the gate after the K. Turrets knocked those P down fast (it's not OP if you spend the credits to build all those platforms and turrets. it's fair enough I say and spectacular). I am still observing to know for sure if they engage fighters and if missile turrets fire. But I just saw something i have not see the game do before. I wonder if that build up of ships were waiting for the K to go thru and the update changed things so capital ships get through gates better (i read something about that in the change log). If defence platforms are working better in this patch I will be very happy, because sealing those gates as best as I can is my game plan in every play thru. Flip side is I guess Xenon stations will have this too :)

More: I am getting war updates that Xenon stations have been destroyed. It means the patch has fixed the non-killable half built station thing. A few hours in an the only ships I have seen chase into Xenon sectors were defence drones. That is a big improvement, because i would have usually lost several escort fighters by now to the bug. Three cheers! :)

@ AquilaRossa: "No way in Steam to tell without launching the game if Steam has applied the beta update."

Go to your Steam Library, right-click on X4, select Properties. In the Updates tab, see if/how you have automatic updates enabled, and in the Betas tab, see if you have the beta enabled. If both then the game will be shown as either having had or awaiting an update in your Library list whenever one is made available for download.

Almost everyone bringing it up seems to be noticing major performance improvement in the Beta forum and on reddit, fortunately!

That sounds really promising! Hopefully I'll find some time to try it out during the weekend.

Yeah, seeing a decent increase in performance, but still getting 2 or 3 second stutters down to very low single figure framerates on occasion, particularly around stations. (I'm using onboard sound and disabled graphic driver's sound.)

Is this a thing with a lot of people, or have I got a setting wrong, somewhere?

Yes, I'm seeing this too. Prior to 2.60 beta, I only had stutter (specifically stutter, not low FPS) on stations when ships were entering/leaving the docking force field (accompanied by the sound effect). In 2.60 however, I'm now experiencing random heavy stutters, seemingly anywhere in space, sometimes a few in quick succession, sometimes just a single prolonged freeze (a second or so).
