Just load up the beta, load up your save game you want to continue from, and when you next save, save in a different slot. Don't overwrite the save game made pre-2.0, keep it until the beta ends, in case something happens during the course of the beta which would make your 2.0 beta save unstable, you will still have the original save to fall back on.

Has anyone tried the turrets yet? Are they actually OK now? Can I expect a frigate to kill a fighter in a reasonable time?

Having a K instantly nuking a corvette's shields is more alarming than pleasing. Especially since capitalship weapons has the same rangeShehriazad wrote: ↑Thu, 7. It plays really nice though. Destroyers main guns slightly outrange he L turrets it seems...so destroyers are a good counter.
And NPC controlled Peregrines with heir bomber UI actually do fine if outfitted with missiles ime

Threw my Argon Eclipse Fighter at a K Destroyers L Turrets and ripped through my mk3 shields with relative ease and my hull pretty much the same. Took just over 2 seconds for it's 2 front L Turrets to make mince meat out of me.
And the Xenon seem to be throwing I's and K's into Argon Prime as well.. Caused allot of damage before the Argon Navy got their shit together.

Please add an option to disable seta interruption from stations notifications. I have 24 stations actually and can't stay in seta for more than 2 min without interruption.
Also, for normal messages, you need to add a filter to disable some messages like trades. 24 station with 10-15 traders and miners mean that I have a so huge flow of messages that I didn't see when I lose reputation or with the drop I collect.
PS: My station has a balance of 12 Million minimum budget is signed as 3.4 million and the manager annoying me that he doesn't have enough money... Why?

Yes i also have to say that all those notifications (audio and written) are really hard to follow.
I think there should be a better way to present them to the player.
Unimportant things that happen (out of sector) should be ignorable.
And important things should be more noticable.
Also the structure of the log is really hard to read.
I don't understand some of the filter-options and i'm missing other filter options for the log.

The main problem is that for the new notifications that tell you about insufficient funds in the station disable SETA plus you can't move and do nothing for the following 3 seconds. With my 24 stations at a certain point, I can't move for 1 min coz these messages pop up all 24 in a row.

Ls are a joke, the Ks on the other hand took out 3 pulsars and 3 corvettes before I gave up fighting it with the fleet. Overall turret accuracy seems better, turret damage on the K is ridiculous, all other turrets still a pretty heavily underwhelming. As for the capital ship rebalance I can't really tell at all, they still have poor hangar stats with zero variance between each ship. There's still no way some of these ships can hold as many ships as they do. Also some ships are still just worse in every single aspect than others. The money notification is pointless, anyone remotely paying attention can just go to station funds and notice a station having no money. Also the logs needs to have an ability to be wiped, I don't particularly care about something that happened weeks ago, nor does it help with my save game sizes at all.

Why bother wait? I don't remember the last time "beta" has caused any problems with saves. I understand the general fear against "betas", but as there haven't even been stable build out yet, there is nothing to worry about.

Betas are unlikely to break the saves but may very well introduce significant issues within the gameworld. Such as stations built in improbable places. Or ships attacking irrelevant targets (such as friendlies).

Unfortunately the last part made it in last "stable" build aswell. Very often you win more than you lose by going into newest betas. Ofc sometimes things can go south. Most critical bugs however are reported very fast.

Personally I can't see why anyone would not try the betas - so much more ongoing functionality (e.g. player shipyards / cap-ship turret balancing)
& you get the chance to help out if there's some problem in gameplay / balancing.
You can easily manage your save games safely without risk to your ongoing game, with simple file-backup sequentially-named copies of the 'save' directory
(you can now even rename the idividual save files),
so there a very low risk of irretrievable problems with any new features.

For the beta, as long as you don't save over your original (pre beta) game, you don't need to worry about trying it out.
