Re: Just a reminder this game will be busted on release
Do we know that this build includes all territory? (Haven't watched the whole stream yet.) There were no Teladi starts so I assumed the Teladi systems were not present in the streamed version.
This could affect CPU load quite a lot.
However it looked way more stable than XR at launch althoug Ant does have a relatively beefy computer. (980 TI, 6th gen i5, SSD, and probably a lot of RAM cause he is a streamer/youtuber)

I think Egosoft put a few bugs in just so that we the buyer know it is a genuine Egosoft product and not some Chinese fake.

It was full of Teladi clusters. Just try to count the mushroom stations, those are all of Teladi origin.

Hello folks!
Been a while. Most of you probably don't remember me. Heck, I didn't even remember my name!
Yes, X4 will likely have a bug list to rival the biggest of novels. It's basically tradition now!
But Egosoft have always fixed them later on.
Looking forward to X4, even though I won't be getting it myself on day one. Mainly because I'm too cheap to pay full price.

or maybe they just do the best relax centers in the universe. Just because I see a lot of wares designed in USA and manufactured in China doesn't make my country USA nor Chinarepatomonor wrote: ↑Thu, 29. Nov 18, 09:26 It was full of Teladi clusters. I don't think it's appropriate to consider Rebirth to be a "typical" launch. That was a rather extreme event, sure, but it was a business decision that went bad. The engineers on the Dev Streams don't seem terribly stressed out, so I suspect there is not a large box full of game-breaking crashes waiting for us like Rebirth had.
Now, I might be mistaken - it might happen again. After which, it would be deserved to consider it a routine occurrence. However, I think they learned a strong lesson with Rebirth and are not on track to repeat the mistakes.

Sorry what? Busted on release? Looks like plenty of people streaming it right now including an ex-dev

Judging from the recent streams I've watched (5h+) seems the bugs are pretty minimal, might be the best X game on release to date. I know at least that it made me buy the game today after the gameplay and impressions I've seen.

CAN A moderator, PLEASE, Lock these threads? as I am tired and bored of reading about how 'CRAP' this game is going to be before it is even releaseed, and of threads about X-Rebirth being bad too.

Re: Just a reminder this game will be busted on release
From watching bits and pieces of the various streams I'd say it was clear that X4 is nowhere near going to be "busted" upon release. Heck, I thought it looked like it ran cleaner right out of the gate than a number of AAA releases from other studios over the past few years. Looks like a home run by Egosoft to me.
Ayn Rand was correct.

Re: Just a reminder this game will be busted on release
Got to say, I've watched several Streams now, a couple of Obsidian Ants, Lothari's and Captain Shacks. Stream software issues aside, things have looked pretty darn good. The only issues I've observed have been largely minor, no crashes. Also, the streamers seem to be enjoying their time in game, even those for whom it's a steep learning curve.
So, while I'm sure there are plenty of bugs yet to be discovered, the early-game is looking good. Must admit, while I was of course always going to buy the game, and buy it at launch, these streams where they've just been told "just play the game" no agenda, no specifics to show, has got me quite hyped...though I was over getting hyped for games lol.
Also, you can really tell that ES have listen to feedback from Rebirth and made X4 accordingly. Of course, the proof of the pudding is in the eating...but I'm low-carb these days so playing X4 will have to do

Don't care. I absolutely trust Egosoft to do what they've always done and fix it all and tweak it up as they go.
Already got the collectors edition. Pimping it so hard on Discord that my unit actually stopped playing our regular go-to game and just watched streams and raved over it. Pretty much everyone I know from ED and Star Citizen are likely to pick it up. MP is well and good but everyone I know wants to have a game they can just enjoy and play on their own too and there just isn't anything since X3 with the sort of depth and complexity that X4 is pitching. Sure, it'll have issues at release. I'd be shocked if it didn't. Don't care, setting my alarm for 1400 UTC so I can start the download as soon as possible and print out the digital artbook, which I will roll around on naked while waiting for the game to download.
Don't judge me, I've been waiting like 6 or 7 years for this game.

beefy? not really... 6th i5 is not really beefy. it compares to a 8th gen i3. card is also old, a tad slower than 1070, aand we now have RTX cards .... so. ill call it more into a midrange computer.csaba wrote: ↑Thu, 29. Been an X fan since X2. I bought Rebirth but was not fond of it, I never tried to get a refund due to the fact that I wanted to support the X series. I knew there would be an eventual new X game out that would be like the the old X series. Bought the collectors edition and I am looking forward in playing X4 bugs or not.

Yea I guess you're from a western country? 6th and 8th gen cards aren't really top sellers here in the east yet. I have a i7 4790 that's quite slower than his card, and only a bit above the minimum req CPU.palm911 wrote: ↑Fri, 30. Looking at yesterday 5h long pre-release stream I can guess the game will not be busted and is stable & playable.
