One, that is not true. Trading is almost instantaneous once your trade ship found it's way to finally dock. The problem is my tradeship goes nowhere near the station I'm trying to trade with, but jumps into empty space between sectors and just sits there doing nothing, or keeps following me with a full trade queue. I suppose you didnt notice the 1 drone loading and unloading your freighter , right? It takes around 15-20 min to complete a trade .
That's friggin true! And no, the graphics are actually really bad, the texture quality is horrible, and have you seen the geriatrics in space? I mean, come on, you can't be serious. The graphics only made look somewhat better by piling on tons of shaders and post-processing, the underlying graphics wouldn't even pass in 2005. Also, the AI is not better, it's actually worse, they just hid that fact well. First of all, they removed the autopilot altogether, and the AI doesn't crash ships into stations anymore, because they turned off collisions! Ships just gently slide right though everything, even each other. That's not an improvement, that's smoke and mirrors. This is indeed not a simular game to the previews ones.
And FYI, I did not fly the Hyperion Vanguard even once in my 1000+ hours of gametime in TC and AP. You know what I flew most? My Tokyo. That's right, a huge friggin carrier. I also wrote a mod, that allowed me to trade with station via Freight Drones, so I don't have to change ships, ever. Before I got that, I mostly flew either my Magnetar (TM) or my Nova Vanguard (M3). I had a Vidar, a Katana and 3 Springblossoms, but I only used those in the Final Fury missions, then they were relegated to sector defense duty. And that was just my last playthrough. See, everyone has their own style of play. Not everyone is flying around in overpowered M7s.
Despite the obvious limitations of the engine, you know what X3 had that Rebirth doesn't? Freedom of choice! You could fly whatever ship you wanted, whenever you wanted. You didn't need a massively overpowered Skank, that can kill giant cap ships alone and take on the universe without taking a single hit. You know what that is? Boring. What exactly can you do in Rebirth aside from fly around and maybe shoot at stuff? That's right, NOTHING. Everything else is helplessly broken. So if you ask me, I'm going back to TC and continue building my chip complex for the HUB mission, while sitting in my Tokyo and watching my MMBS and it's fleet of Falcon Haulers mobile mine silicone on the sector map while my M6-s zoom around protecting the sector...
