I am quite sure that if X:Rebirth is shown at Gamescon, that a release date will be announced as well, because it appears that DeepSilver has now kickstarted the commercial campaign.

It has been posted here (or implied) that the reason for the absence of news (and screenshot release) came from DeepSilver, the publisher. We were also told that DS will kickstart the ads campaign when a release date is known, for obvious reason that DS wants to get a bang for their buck.

That explains why XR was absent at last year Gamescom and the discontinuation of the screenshot thread. Now that CBJ comes out and announced that XR will be shown at Gamescom, the obvious conclusion is that DS has now launched the ads campaign, and that a release date will be announced.

Yay there may be the chance to play Rebirth at Gamescom!!!! It may be worth going all that way afterall. Well it already will be but that could make it all the better
