SETA Repairs aren't working for you because you've missed a VITAL step, to whit: Use a Heavy Object on the SETA key (just remember that at 10xSETA, your suit will expire in 12m).Winter Dragon wrote:I tried the SETA trick, can't make it work as any key press interrupts it. I use a heavy object on the Ctrl button when I have dinner or catch some news, but that only accounts for an hour of repair time out of several I leave the game running.

I'm opposed to Shipyards being made dependant on inputs. While it would make the game more realistic, it would also make it more frustrating - if you're not flying a ship suitable for combat, you could be locked out of upgrading your ship for a very long time.
I support the shipyard getting a "used ship lot" so that we can sometimes buy cool, rare ships without playing one specific start.
I also support having marines performing repairs on your ship. There's a script to that effect, but it would be nice if it was in Vanilla.
I'd like it if the Pandora crates and abandoned ships continued to spawn as you played the game. Maybe it would just be one of each per game day, just so there's still fun stuff to look for instead of running out.

Ctrl-J is all you need and about 30 seconds. Once the SETA is on your suit that is.Solomon Short wrote:SETA Repairs aren't working for you because you've missed a VITAL step, to whit: Use a Heavy Object on the SETA key (just remember that at 10xSETA, your suit will expire in 12m).Winter Dragon wrote:I tried the SETA trick, can't make it work as any key press interrupts it. The problem with that is that it is hard to put a heavy object on the J key (on the US English keyboard). It would help if one remap the SETA key to something that allow a heavy object to be put on (like something on the side of the keyboard).kylania wrote:Ctrl-J is all you need and about 30 seconds. I find that using something small on the actual key (like an in-ear earphone), with something weighty like a book on top works. The small thing means most of the weight goes the SETA key, & the rest of the weight is sufficiently distributed it doesn't depress any other keys to the point of detection.VincentTH wrote:The problem with that is that it is hard to put a heavy object on the J key (on the US English keyboard). Being that this is AP so we're all on Steam, you can just hit shift+tab to turn on the steam overlay while the repair laser is running. This does not pause the game and the laser will continue running if you let go of the fire button then. I have had to do an alt-tab in and out after leaving the steam overlay to get rid of some random UI glitchiness after, but it works fine otherwise.Solomon Short wrote:I find that using something small on the actual key (like an in-ear earphone), with something weighty like a book on top works.
