Oh how I wish this thread didn't exist. I'm trying to not think about TNBT so I can cope with the waiting, but this sooo isn't helping...

For the people who don't venture out of OT (you know who you are ;)):
Koch Media will be holding a press conference at FedCon XX in Düsseldorf, Germany on Thursday 28 April 2011 at 15:15, at which the project known as TNBT will be officially unveiled. There will be a brief preview of the game for the media. All of the relevant information given at the event will also be simultaneously released right here at Egosoft.com.

TNBT will be just one of the titles featured at Koch Media's booth at FedCon. Please be advised that there will be no significant EGOSOFT presence at the event, so please don't attend expecting to see much of the game or the dev team.

However, two lucky Community members will have the opportunity to win a FedCon XX passport (all days/all events). You can find out more about the sci-fi awesomeness on offer at Europe's biggest sci-fi convention here. Watch this space for more details of the competition.

Sorry mate! :D

Let the speculation begin... and this is some pretty heavy speculation with some spurious connections made as we know little about TBNT.

According to the convention website it is "Europe's biggest Star Trek & Scifi convention". According to the program the "Deep Silver Exclusive Game Preview" is on the first day surrounded by Star Trek related stuff (and one Star Gate thing) so is TNBT a Star Trek related game? :O

Thoughts?

Reasons why I'm wrong? (Expecting a few of these)

So after months of reading messages that "don't worry, you'll know when TNBT is coming out!" imagine the irony of the fact that I was too lacking in observation skills to notice the big announcement coming up for most of today . . .

I don't think a space-game based on making shirts and trousers silky-smooth would work using X's engine...

Just thought I'd point out (might have already been seen, too lazy to read.) it mentions a reference object 'Titan' in the cutscene script... ;)

Yes, that was mentioned in earlier post. Might or might not be significant.

It does however, make me wonder if they are going to use some of the ships and stations from X3. After all, it takes a huge amount of time (money) to create 3D models.

Could be similar to X3 except the jumpgates stopped working, so TNBT is about re-establishing communications and commerce in a gateless universe. Or, it could be more about exploring local systems rather than jumping all over the place.
