As I said before and on the FLR forum we are not all against Freelancer!Falmarin wrote:Hi, I'm a big Freelancer follower, and have been waiting ever since it was pitched as a MMORPG. First of all, I'm looking forward to many of the "new generation" of space based games, namely EVE, Freelancer, and X2.
I'd just like to say, that threads like THIS is what really turns a person off to a game. The bashing of other games, especially when both are still in their state of developement is absolutely intolerable. Sure you can have your "fan pride", but I'm disheartened with how much the X2 commuinity can completely hate Freelancer. You havent even given it a try for god's sake!
I'd also like to address some of the major issues people have had with the current build of freelancer:
1. Radar: Hi, the entire HUD is a huge ass "Tachyon: The Fringe" radar, ships in front are labeled in front, and ships behind are at the sides of your hud. And early versions of FL even sported a full fleged radar, making is very possible it will be added in due to the fan concern.
2. Cockpit: very moot point, earlier builds of FL included a cockpit, and PR testers are saying the cockpit is has a STRONG chance of returning.
3. Joystick: Puh-lease, every single review has been absolutely raving this feature. Digital Anvil had some real guts to go with a Mouse Driven game, and I applaud them for it!
4. Recent Forum Actions: They have the right to run their forum how ever they want, and that is how they chose to run it. Obsolete Posts are locked, and OPEN FLAMES are locked. Legit debates are left open. Easy as that.
Please, try and do some research before posting your uninformed opinion. Ignorance is NOT bliss.
BTW: I'm looking forward to X2, hope it'll be a smash.
I suppose you've played it then? Yes? No? Thought not.Freelancer is RUBISH O you can't say that, you must say SH*T
To play something like that your BRAIN must be limited
Nobody here has said there is anything bad about deleting posts which are against the rules. However, the rules on this forum are not particularly strict; we'll usually act against major flames, and since the forum is hosted in Germany there are issues with racial and political hate speech, but mostly we see where the ride will take us.Tach wrote:By the way pjknibbs please tell me why it is bad to delete posts that are made purely to offend people and are against the rules? These people are representing X2, remember.
I have a funny feeling this post might have been highlighted after my recent additions although not once did i bad mouth the game in any wayFalmarin wrote:Hi, I'm a big Freelancer follower, and have been waiting ever since it was pitched as a MMORPG. Can you guys imagine what this place would be like if the Egosoft MOD's went power crazy like that......Nightmare
Thank you for your comments. I will add what most people here have discussed already, which is that broadly speaking about hald of us here will also be checking out and probably buying Freelancer as well, especially if released prior to X2.Falmarin wrote:Hi, I'm a big Freelancer follower, and have been waiting ever since it was pitched as a MMORPG.
