Don't know when it changed but offset is 128h in 2.6 not 130h - as said above cff works OK.

It is rather obvious, why the patcher fails; it does a simple edit of a byte at certain offset without any idea what that byte does.

The CFF Explorer and similar tools do understand the format of the header section of MS binaries. Therefore, they do correctly find (and change) the byte that holds flag of interest.

On the same site as CFF Explorer there is also this small utility that can patch any executable, quite handy

The patcher simply allows the game to use more than 2Gb of virtual memory, if the game uses less than 2Gb then you are not pushing it hard enough :D

This nt core work great. I was wondering what happened when I updated x3tc. The game was like a slide show again ,so I guess the 2.6 patch breaks the laa patch.

Yeah Im having issues with 2.6 too. How do we apply the patch for 2.6 now? I have the steam version and windows 7 x64.

I'm actually having the same problem (i believe) that N4N had.

BTW I tried going to the ntcore site but it didnt work? Like the page didnt load

Same here, every plot mission and Terran sectors run like a slideshow after upgrading to 2.6. Going back to 2.5 for now.

Maybe BlackRazors link to this utility should be posted in the OP first post. If you don't use CFF explorer this utility seems to do everything that needs to be done, and works.

I am just saying, because every time I check back here wondering what's up somebody is posting that it is not working - so some heads up on a utility that does work.

Cheers!

I guess this is not safe to use with a 4gb system?

I'm on 2.6 (with 4GB of ram) and for me, having LAA enabled causes problems with the 0 or 1 FPS entering sector glitch.

When I disable LAA, the problem happens for about a second, then framerates resume. I suppose people with 6+ GB may not have the same problem I encountered.

Finally did the LAA and it works like a dream 8)

I got an over all minimum of 10-15fps boost, AND I stopped having weird stutter issues where my game would pause for a few seconds and the gui would disappear.

I still see them, but they don't freeze the whole game for a few seconds and remove the gui while I'm in the middle of doing shit.

I tried using NTCore on the Steam version of X3:TC and when I tried to launch it, Steam threw and error and refused to run the executable. There might be some inherent executable tampering prevention in Steam. Might have to extract the 2.6 patch, get the executable out of there, try using NTCore on that and then see if that will run.

That's exactly the way to apply the LAA flag on the Steam version
