Like BoomerM6 I can't find it either, and mrbadger's link ends in a "The forum you selected does not exist." message. I fear that the update will be approved and released before I figure this out.mrbadger wrote:BoomerM6 wrote:

It's there alright, the link works. You may not have access to it though. Look on the forums list for the devnet forumsherocrafter wrote:

Understandable. The name of the utility is CFF Explorer. I've had no problems running with a >2GB flagged executable to date, so that's good to know I'm not corrupting my saved games or anything by allowing more than 2GB of RAM.Xenon_Slayer wrote:You will still be able to set it manually using an external program. I can't remember the name but it was linked in the Tech forum somewhere. It is true that some people actually enjoyed some performance increase with no side effects on their system, but many had problems such as ~1 FPS when looking at some objects. This is what this change will fix.Technojerk36 wrote:Wait, my game lags slightly in Home of Light (Like a gajillion civillian vessals all over the place) and that's with 6GB RAM. I'm guessing my game would like drop to 5fps if I was forced to use only 2GB of RAM.Xenon_Slayer wrote: Disabled use of more than 2GB RAM again due to bugs

Does this mean we'll finally be able to play without the disk?Removed copy protection
I'm on my third disk already, my pc wont boot with the disk in the drive, so i have to remove it everytime i shutdown my PC at night, or restart my PC. I play daily if possible so all the disk switching is taking it's tole.
I can't even play on my laptop anymore because my laptop doesn't have a DVD drive. Cant use no-cd cracks anymore.
So playing without the disk would really help.

Use of no-cd cracks is illegal, and mentioning something like this on the developers own site is most unwise. I suggest that you avoid doing so again.

It's not technically a "crack" though, when Egosoft do it themselves. Normally a no-cd crack is an instrument of piracy because the cracked game can be sold illegally over the internet - assuming anyone has a connection fast enough to download 7GB in less than forever. In this case Ego is just being nice to its community
Anyway as eladan said, this thread is supposed to be discussing the new 2.5 patch so let's not talk about piracy, please....

God bless.Gavrushka wrote:from your post in testing forum 2.5 FIXES broken saves as per your question - Before and after for me is 800-1000% frame rate improvement (BUT mine was an extreme case)
I'm happy to hear about any kind of improvement to the game

Although I don't quite identify my merits in this, complaints aside

Hiya Peeps,
I have a query regarding the contents of the new patch that I'm sure no-one has thought to ask about....
Basically what I'd like to know is, if it includes any sort of AI pathfinding routine updates?
I'm only asking this as I had to sit through another long, utterly boring session of "Protect the convoy" mission from FF, I escorted the ships across the sector fine (with the only excitement provided by various clusters, 'vette's, fighters, etc showing up to vape the convoy as they bicker about who's going thru) only to come a cropper when it came to them entering the gate, it would seem that the AI pathfinding routine tries to treat ALL the convoy ships as 1 induhvidual unit for the purposes of accessing the gate, is there any likelihood of this being addressed in this or any subsequent patches?
I will admit upfront that I only played *MODIFIED* games using mods & scripts, if this has had an effect on the game, so be it.. I'll just have to live with the end result then....
If any Mod/Dev feels this is better off in the S&M forum, feel free to edit & move this post over there...
Cheers & Thranx

Hiya Peeps,
@ X_S.........
Cheers for that, didn't realize it involved the actual full on game code, I naturally assumed it was part of the "peripheral" coding....
As you can probably tell, I have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about here...
Ok, to try & sum up what I'm dribbling about above....
I didn't know it would involve a major code change, but naturally assumed it involved a fairly minor background code tweak....
Many thanks for the explanation X_S!!
@ Gavrushka.......
Hiya mate,
Now that you mention it, I do vaguely remember reading some of those topics, but it seems old age has snuck up on me & I forgot all about them...
Although, that does explain the strange niggling feeling I had in the back of my mind when I wrote that query before....

Well i would just have a little question. What about the mission line A New Home ? Will it be in the 2.5 finally or not ? I'm not pushing anyone here i'm just asking myself on the plans that Egosoft got on it.
Because i think that it would be great if the mission was included with the 2.5 even if we must wait a week or two more.

As it is not in the change notice... I think the answer is no... but for more definite information I would check in the L3+ forums.bof111 wrote:Well i would just have a little question.
