A small question, the answer to which I haven't been able to find elsewhere: will this patch screw up scripts for 2.0a? There don't seem to be game-revolutionizing modifications, so I'm thinking they should be compatible, but I'm asking anyway... better safe than sorry

Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow you may die.

can steam users install the patch manually? Because my steam just times out trying to download the update (i can download all my other games just fine...). This means I cant play, since steam locked the game once it discovered there was an update (even after I disabled the update
). I'd try reinstalling but im pretty sure im at my activation limit already...

No, I wouldn't advise Steam users to install the patch manually. Perhaps you could contact Steam support to solve your update problem. If you do decide to reinstall to try to solve your problem then there is a sticky thread in the Tech Support forum which explains how to get your activation limit extended, should that prove necessary.

A happy bank manager
I just wanted to say congratulations and a very well done to the engineers at Egosoft as TC on my antique of a PC now runs so, so much better after 2.1 . In fact it's almost like X3:R performance even around those massive stations.
I was almost at the point of resigning myself to spending circa £1000 for a new PC just run TC and now it's not really necessary, if I could I'd buy you all a beer I would.
I do get a "niggle" at start up but hey that's only 5 seconds of annoyance against 3+ hours of wonderous playing....Is a fresh re-install recommended?
Cheers,
Moonrat
PS: Will there be a new 2.1 demo so as to compare the performance improvement? Might also be good to show new folk interested in playing the game that'd it run just fine on their (old) rig.

I cannot make you hear ... you find your way to heaven ... I'll meet you when you're there ...
