A higher model ship may not need to mean its better just that there are advances. You can use the text file to describe how exactly the changes could be made.
Yes, in mod will be something like this.
We planning to replace all standart ships in game.
The names in the brackets make you feel as if you are buying the same make but different model. I would also like to one day create a mod where instead of race factories selling ships its actually different companies.
oh yes, I thought too! what hack did you use?
honestly, how do you get that ammount?

Chris Gi wrote:How do you get so much ship? As far as I know (and I have tested it with patch14) the maximum number of ships in X2 is 201!
Yes, I thought too max number of ships in X2 is 200, but i download BEAM mod 2.01b and there are in the game abaut 250 ships, I look in OBJ files there are 314 ship slots. In patch15 are max numbers of ship slots are 314.
I'm not tested yet all 314 ship slots, download BEAM mod 2.01b and check yourself.
And isn't distribution after hacking illegal? If this was from the beam mod then am I correct in thinking that the mod is actually an illegal breach in modding laws?
Well, obviously Egosoft doesn't consider this modding illegal. Neither the links to the programs are deleted, nor the links to all these mods that depend on them. Otherwise, X2 modding would be near to impossible. All mods that introduce more than around 10 new ships use this hack... .

I'm not used files from another mods, it is as an example- about max ships numbers in OBJ files, so I do not know 100% sure about max numbers of ships, I have not yet begun working with OBJ files, all my time I creating new ships, I do not have time to anything else. In our mod we never used files from another mods
I see. I'm not trying to put you at the blame of anything I was just stating that in some other games I play hacking like that is considered illegal, Rome total war as such.
I think PXD should have certain designs then expand upon them models to make different variations like I previously stated. Ocourse this is just feedback though
I checked the pilot CheckerTwo (he is author of patch) site from Russian x2 game forum, in OBJ PATCH15 description is written - that 200 new ships add to existing game ships, that means the maximum numbers of ships in X2 are 314 ships, in near time I check it.

@sergoba: Never mind, it was an almost off-topic modder's discussion about how many ship can be added to the game.
@Zeron-mk7:
Yes, I checked it again. BEAM-mod ships do work.
I once had a problem adding ships on slot 202 upwards. That's why I thought the 200 ships might mean not additional 200 ships, but 200 ships in all. But this seems to be due to X2Editor. I can't read BEAM-mod's TShips, X2Editor always gets an error. It seems adding more ships is possible, but you have to do it the "hard" way - by using a text editor!
how does that make sense, i dont see how it is less easy if he is still working on it. besides my computer apparently though it runs X2 well enougth doesnt meet system requirements.
