There are 3 "asteroid bases" in XFP. One enterable with the billboard inside as you've found in TOL. The other 2 have docking facilities. They are located in the general area of:
Transend also has these asteroid bases - though the Transcend map is altered somewhat from XFP.

I notice a number of files have the same name as the X3 original files (or at least the XTM modded files (?)).
Thanks very much for assistance Realspace!Realspace wrote:Ok, I answer to your to help Observe to take breath inbetween !!
Joking, of course, but everyone can say you that 2 mods of this kind (introducing nes ships, systems, etc. etc.) will never be compatible!!
... and don't ever think you'll start mixing them by hand!! please, I don't want to feel responsible for your suicide!!!
My tip: why don't you play both? either in different times (so do sane people), or install 2 copies of X3 each with a mod (this do the INSANE SCHIZOFRENIC people ... + + .... ant it's aloooot of fun!)

You are of course correct. Best method when running multiple mods is having X3 installed into separate directories - one for each mod. Otherwise you run the risk/hassle of conflicts. If you are using single installation, you should let Transcend overwrite the two or three files it may ask you about. Transcend is very minimal in usage of scripts or any other potential conflicts.
NOTE: Transcend if arguably the most combat intensive mod available. Your first order of business should be making sure all your starting fleet is armed and ordered to defend/attack enemies - otherwise you may loose ships before you even get going.

FYI: Transcend version 3.0.0 is currently undergoing beta test, with expected release in January. The new version will contain among other things, a new special Heavy Cargo Transport/Rescue vessel. This ship mounts a custom "Repel" weapon which is based on Concussion Impulse Generator for purpose of "pushing" enemy away from craft/s being rescued.

For those who may not know, it's very easy to have multiple X3 installations. For example:brianwillis wrote:Thanks, I think I'll do that
1. Install the game in c:\Program Files\EGOSOFT\virgin. Don't use this for anything except as untouched installation
2. Copy and paste all files and subdirectories from "virgin" into c:\Program Files\EGOSOFT\copy1. Use this for running X3 with some mod.
3. Repeat #2 as copy2 for running some other mod.
This way each mod will have a nice clean starting game "unpolluted" by any other mods. That's the best way to assure mod installations without potential conflicts.

Basic rule of thumb is: No mod is compatable with any other mod.
That said, since you can only run one mod at a time, the question becomes: will this mod work if some other mod is installed in single X3 installation (see my comments above re. multiple installations).
Really the only way to be sure is to try. Unfortunately, this method may cause problems not discovered until you are well into the game. I've never installed XTM, so I don't know if that mod causes conflicts with Transcend. Compounding the potential issues is the fact that many players have various scripts they've installed for one reason or another.
The simple bottom-line if you want to be certain you won't have any problems with Transcend, XTM, XFP, DDRS, etc, etc, is use the multiple X3 installation approach. It is probably inevitable that you'll eventually see problems if you are installing tons of scripts plus multiple mods in single installation.

Looking thru the .cat file I see an 00749.bod file in there. Why doesn't the galaxy map load in-game? Well, sl least I'm no seeing it.
My mods for X3TC & X3AP
Been with the X-series from the beginning. If it happens in the X_Universe I've been there done that several times over.

Galaxy map does load in-game. New Terran, Mech Warrior, Khaak, Tree of Life (moonbase), default X3 sectors, etc, all should be loading for you.TEKing66 wrote:Looking thru the .cat file I see an 00749.bod file in there. Why doesn't the galaxy map load in-game? Well, sl least I'm no seeing it.
Please elaborate what seems to be missing so I can better detemine what the trouble may be.

Sorry to drag this thread back from the depths, but I want to try this MOD, but need a new install to do it, and this has bought up a question.
During the X3 install process, the installer asks you which start menu the shortcut should be placed in. It gives a list of options, the only EGOSOFT options are my existing directories that I use for XTM mod. Will putting it here disrupt my other copy of X3.
Sorry if this is a bit of a noob question!!

@Aliens62
Hello and Thanks. I am pretty sure you are talking about Transcend II and the installer which we use for X3 Terran Conflict. The installer and Transcend II mod for TC will not work for Reunion.
Any questions or anything that relates to Transcend II for Terran Conflict should be posted in the Terran Conflict Script and Modding forum under Transcend II Reloaded Topic Post.

Transcend for X3 Reunion is no longer supported but if any questions arise concerning Transcend for X3 Reunion, please pm me. Thanks.
@Carlos the Curios or CBJ.
Please lock this topic so no one else will post to it. Thanks.
