Ravn is very much a work in progress. It is worth remembering though that he has been (playing) the - Simple Grunt - turned Copper, and being a deep cover specialist is something of a full on method actor! However, (may / or may not) be wrong in his latest assumption!jackhanna88 wrote:Could go either way for Ravn at this point. A lot of the Core AFC 4 characters are good examples of a saying attributed to Buddha that I believe translates to, all men are mad!

Though i would just go ahead and post a reveiw of the story so far. and i have to say i love it. there is a deep background to each characters which really let you feel like you are there yourself. there is action when you want it and a good paced story line that you can really get into when you want to just let your mind flow. there are two things that i have found not to my liking tho infact they are both very small things. first, somtimes you can get very wordy making it slightly harder to read, there have been the odd ocations were i have had to go back a reread a line to make sure i got it right, second there are odd people that dont get a back ground for a while so there was a time when i was wondering who emma dei was, it is very rare so not a problem just somthing to think about, apart from that i really love the story and thank you greatly for posting it up. keep up the good work

Thanks for the post Fly_by I know I can stretch my sentences way too much. Brevity is not my strong point, it gets away from me!
The second issue is a funny one. I had decided to start naming a few more, less detailed figures, in passing (partly as window dressing) I was worried my Universe was too tightly focused around those directly involved - the players in the Core storyline and their associates! Also like to occasionally show little snippets of non related events.
Emma however is mentioned previously (though only once or twice - I think - prior to her kidnap). To add to the confusion I confess probably under the nickname of 'Em' [Anna Dei's father's assistant and wife.] The fact that I have often dropped surnames was probably to blame here. If Anna had been firmly linked to her surname of Dei all th eway through it would have been easy to guess at the likely association.
Really the kidnap plot came to me late - I was looking around as a particular villain - trying to figure out how to get around AFC 4 security! Otherwise Anna's parents would have remained in the shadows as just the distant elderly Professors who believed their gifted daughter was wasting her time in admin.
They didn't know Anna was still doing (very serious) R&D partially for their own protection!
To my surprise I noticed I hadn't even given Anna's (papa) a name so he became Jake Dei rather late on!
Also because Reapers Passage it is a work in progress, I admit some names are arriving a bit late on the scene! Simply becasuse they were concieved and written in late. Something I hope to to fix when the story is finished with a few careful additions. Content that can be slipped in to some of the earlier chapters. Although this will take careful consideration as I don't want to create accidental spoilers!

Quite an important one as it commences to detail another serious protagonist. Was almost tempted to do a - wibbley wobbley - flash back with this one but resisted!
As ever I am very happy to hear comments and opinions. Even if I find some - necessary changes - difficult to implement!

Sorry to here that, hope it was reasonably amicable - if such splits exist outside other peoples perfect lives! Not posting quite as often as I used too, currently back in Northern Ireland much to my own shock and dismay! The difficulty with digital possession.
In the beginning Historically there was a Pirate called Hector Bane!
The above individual [both back story and still active] stole some technology from a lab guarded by the Legion that allowed the saving and downloading of Minds. In effect allowing the saved copy of a person to possess either another individual or a cloned body after death. A sort of crude form of technologically derived digital immortality - however the question is, is a copy really the same person especially a copy of a copy?
Hector Bane was killed but not before before making suitable arrangements and returning as another Pirate called Mars Fell, who was killed and returned as Jorac, who died in Priests Pity only to return as Tur Ryn.
Like all Banes Dupes the unpossessed Tur Ryn believed he was just getting a passive download of - useful stored memories - along with a handy brain implant. A sort of Pirate leader legacy passed down to a chosen successor.
The way the procedure works the original mind is eventually swapped over with the recorded one in a lengthy process. However the speed of this change over is increasing in Banes case with each reincarnation unknown to Fay.
Note it is the original persona that becomes a mere passive memory store for the possessor who is downloaded onto the brain itself in stages. At one point the person being violated will seem to be getting control of the others memories then they reach past the point of balance and it goes the other way around.
Kerry is the (original Hector Bane's) grand daughter; true genetic kin. However Banes Jorac persona looking for Banes daughter and only surviving relative when he arrived on Aladna Hill gave away the fact of who he was, as the family was being watched. This led to a man hunt instigated by Fay. Banes daughter was killed, and Jorac became the guardian to Banes very young Grand daughter. Jorac pretended he was the girls big brother back from being off planet. Obviously the real facts couldn't be explained to the young girl or anyone else.
So Kerry believes she is Jorac's sister but is in fact Banes Grand daughter.
I know it is a little confusing.
Note: Faith has been pretty much directly and indirectly responsible for all of Banes various demises, while Bane took out the original Faith so that her download Fay arrived on the scene.
Currently Bane dosn't know who Faiths download is - only that she is existent - or the true nature of the Legion only that Faith is AN and or ANI.
In short-
Tur Ryn = Hector Bane + Mars Fell + Jorac
Fay = Faith.
Kerry = Banes genetic Grand Daughter / Jorac's illusionary sister.

Erm! I thought I was back at boarding school, listening to our Drama teacher. Your story involves characters and a 'multi-plot' line that sounds Shakespearian,...Apologies to the Great Bard!, but is probably a story he would write or adopt.
