Further 'hot fix' - v1.1.2.2
to do with a crash when loading the XFP & XTM mods.

Just found an error when selecting the Arrow from the list of ships, I got the correct stats but the wrong model, a Boron M5 Octopus was displayed. The viewer versions tried were 1.1.1.6 and 1.1.2.3.

Other than that; its' a useful utility, many thanks.

AFAIK an Arrow uses the same model as an Octopus,
similarly a Starburst uses the same model as a Discoverer.

Forgot to update this post about v1.1.2.3, it added support for HQ spray shop effects.

Thanks for clearing that up, but why is a Boron craft listed as Argon?

Well, as I heard it there was this Argon bloke,
Banana or something or other I think his name was,
you see he thought hey we've not got enough green ships.
So off he went to see this other bloke er Rolk yes thats it Rolk,
at a fate maybe, he was impulsive like that, never was satisfied old Ban.,
couldn't fly in a straght line for more than a minute.
Anyway see, he says to Rolk, you got any green ships ? (cos he liked green)
Yeah sure Rolk says, what size, we've got F-off big ones, medium ones,
or these tiny little fast crappy ones - mind you they're pretty rubbish cos you can't
shoot anything & the luggage space is tiny - alright for a nip down the coast I guess.

So to cut a long story short turns out Ban brought the whole damn lot,
talk about impulse buyin. Trouble was he couldn't sell the flippin things,
so in the end he just left them lying around the place - cluttering things up.

Then to cap it all, he decided he wanted a grey ship after all, a bit slower perhaps,
so he got his best modellers on the job & guess what, the new ship looked
the bleedin same as that M5 disco thingy ship they already had, well he wasn't too
chuffed & thought sod it, tell you what I leave these ones scattered around as well.

So it was the Egosoft accountants; "you want two more models! - reuse the cannon fodder".

X3 Model Viewer crash

I have just recentley installed the XTM on to my laptop running the latest Windows XP and X3 Reunion V2.5 . Since then the X3 Model Viewer no longer works . It starts to check the CAT files then it crashes. Is this a common problem and is there a fix. Also I would like to see some proper cockpits out there instead of the rubbish view you get with the game. I have downloaded several of the additional ships and now have about 200 ships to choose from but the only ones with decent cockpits are the X-Fleet. Can anyone help. I am a newby so be gentle.

I suspect you're using an old version of the model-viewer,
version 1.2.2.2 was the first one that coped with XTM,
but best to use the new version linked in the post above yours.

Can't comment about cockpits, not a big fan myself, except maybe for cap-ship interiors.

- Not sure if you're going to get notification of this reply,
sometimes (always ?) that happens with moved posts.

hi,.. i am assuming this is a problem on my end after reading some of the posts;. but this is what i get::

everything goes well until it comes to the MOD pluginmanager load progress IE: ships get about 1/4 of the way and populate universe gets about 3/4 of the way and then no longer responds.

i am using X3R 2.5 (if that makes any difference) with emp installed(Dunno if thats any difference either)

anyway i figured maybe it was just a real slow load so i waited 6 hours (as what usually happens when i load new "online games" anyway.
my X3r game directory is in program files in the EGOSOFT folder (maybe i should change it?) Nothing still not responding.

yep when i removed the MODS for pluginmanager folder it werked just fine.

is there going to be an update that will allow XSP(as i opened the XSP with "all files" and it shows no data available;.. myabe i have to save them with the ship creator?) ships and maybe a paintbrush to really "customise" the ships? rather than guessing the hue and saturate numbers?(takes forever;..not the loading but to see whayt the color is;... you kno whave a paint brush type "square" with all the colors along with the hue?) i tired opening them with twisted paintbrush but unfortuanately all formats does not included the XSP's. (figured it would have been more basic)

ye oops lol i thought i posted reply from X-univers and it popped up here in X3R script and mod. ah well ok headed over to the other.
