I would like to see:

Cartography missions, where you were asked to scan for all the items in a particular sector, or analyse the mineral content in all the asteroids, however this would only work when the player has just started out.

You could also do enemy intelligence missions which would entail you entering dangerous space areas and reporting on what was happening there, perhaps passing checkpoints they set out for you and then returning, in one piece :P

I also liked the aforementioned idea of races, in which the player would pass a series of checkpoints that had spawned and had to win the race, that would be fun. Also I think there could be pilot skills test where you have to navigate through a thin tunnel in an asteroid without losing your shields, I would enjoy those. :)

Since the new X3 universe has no A.I factory ships it would make sense for them to ask via the BBS for a number of TS ships to be assigned to its factory for a period of time or until the ships have made a certain amount of money.. The player would have to replace any lost ships due to Pirates/Kha'ak attacks etc durring this time period. As a random feature the player never knows what the final reward will be, sometimes it will barely cover his/her costs of replacing lost ships, sometimes a new ship is offered, sometimes a large money reward.

Another idea would be to ask the player to supply a new factory and place it in a certain sector and to make a certain amount of money in a time frame. The player would have to protect the station against any attacks during this period. The rewards or failures for this mission I leave to Egosoft to ponder over.


Just two ideas I believe, would appeal to the X3 traders out there..

I would really like to see BBS missions that would allow you to dock at a mysterious movable research base and you get rewarded with random unique spacecraft mods.

eg. You can fit Khaak weapons to the ship of your choice or get a special Space compression gadget to allow you to fit larger shielding to a smaller craft. or even a special modified version of existing weapons that are a little more powerful or have a better range.

these mods are non transferable and you can't sell the ships they are in either. but it would be nice if you could personalise you spacecraft in this way. makes it a little more unique to you :)

I liked...
Xenon Invasions and Assignations (esp how they get harder).... but also found the Urgent Supply missions a good way to make credits at the start.

I would like to see...

1) Defend frieghter convoy from the Yaki (just to help bring the Yaki into the game more than just the plot).

2) Khaak/Xenon Sector patrol (have to patrol 4-6 sectors of a race and clear them of enemies). Licensed Pilots only.

3) Khaak Sector defence/ or offence against a Khaak sector.

4) TL Escorts missions (4-12 sectors). (against pirate/Yaki)

5) Station defence missions (defend station against Pirates, Yaki, Xenon)

First off thanks for the chance to voice our ideas.

These would be fun/add immursion IMO excuse me if they are not in any particular order.

1) (and i'm surprised i'm the first to say it) Hiring CREW for your ships on the BBS to man guns/stations or some factories for you.This idea could branch out to having to perform another service to get the really experienced crew.

2) Supply all the factories in X sector with Y amount of wares because the sector in question has become stagnant (i.e. all factories are out of energy) Could work for a single station out of most wares.

3) Delivering highly explosive chemicals to a far away sector (can't use jump drive or it will explode along with the player's ship)

4) get a bbs offer to place a station before a competetor can, i.e. the family ronkar doesn't want the family whi's factories in their sector.

5) BBS missions to make smuggling a more viable option (filling a pirate station for example)

6) Assassination with a twist, your hired to kill X person in Y ship, but he is innocent (maybe).. you can comm the ship before you kill him and hear his story. Upon investigation at another station you could find him innocent or not, killing him first though could ruin your rep totally with his race. OR it could all be a scam and you will have to find him again :)

7) All races could/should have a military that will offer you BBS missions like those previously discussed, but once you get in good with one race others will hunt you or try to steal you away from the other race.

8 ) REAL xenon infultration (Borg Style). Your asked to investigate strange happenings in an adjentent sector to a xenon one, upon arrival you find a few out of place factories (Xenon shipyard ?) that you must first invade with Military personal then destroy for a large race rank boost.

9) Resupply: you are asked when at lower ranks to collect wares floating around after a large battle, you will be paid top price for the items (missules etc) if your fast enough to recieve them before others get to them. Would only appear after a large battle or when the sector has alot of stuff floating around in it.

10) Hired to clear the trade lanes from asteroids. You must either mine or destroy X amount of asteriods in sector Y because they are blocking the trade lanes.

11) Kidnapping: the pirates in X station want you to kidnap Y prince/princess etc. and return them to the station for ransom, you will be paid and possibly even get the "drop" credits (ruthless pirates might even keep the credits and/or kill the kidnapee for pirate rep rank)

12) Diplomat to the Kha'ak: An envoy is being sent into the Kha'ak sectors (requires having the co-ordinance) for negotiations with them (for whatever they may want) to allow a truce for a sector. Would involve the player being VERY high in race rep but would, if successful, allow a sector to never be invaded by the Kha'ak (no mention of the xenon or pirates though). Could also be used for Xenon or pirate truces.

13) Clear out Xenon sector X: would be another very high level mission only showing up when a player is above rank level 3, would ask for a player to clear out a xenon sector to either claim as their own or to offer to the mission giving race for a large boost in rep. Should be a sector that frees traderoute passage (like 347 or 472).

Alot of good ideas so far - i'll edit to add more when i have had my morning coffee :D

I did not get any BBS missions yet: not much to choose, at least at the plot point where I stuck. In generaly I like missions where I can complete it different ways. I liked patrol missions, crystal search, build mine in Priest rings (plot missions). I can choose the ship you fly, how to equip it, so I have my way to finish the mission. In build mine mission (credits were required) one could use UTs to get it other could use/build fabs someone else do fight/ship capture. What I do not like is when I do not have that freedom. That is why I hated race and spy drone missions. I were stripped of everything I achieved in this game. My style of playing did not matter any more. There is only 1 way to win and to win I had to crash/loose a lot. VERY annoying. Now I am stuck at AP Gonner mission (fly through asteroid).
After about 50 failed attempts I know I will never pass it. Again, I was stripped of all my ship equipment. I can not see speed, my back turret is disabled (so think does not matter anymore) and I am in primitive linear arcade with weapons disabled and no options at all. Even 10-15 years old arcade games gave you some choices. I am so disgusted with that constant restart/crash in that mission that I am going to put the game on the shelf. I even do not want to play non-plot that is how repelling this mission is.
Bottom line is that any type of mission will be good as long you remember your own logo:
TRADE, FIGHT, BUILD and THINK
If your mission does not satisfy that, if there is no choice in how you make it, eradicate it.

I had some ideas:

Tracking mission

Have to find a ship and either take it out or capture it. You can contact people in station and ask them if they had seen the ship. This would be in the comm menu.

Mobile Mining

Ask to get some rare mineral for a client the is located in an asteroid in a sector.

Cargo Retrieval
Like the first pilot of Firefly. Have to get out of space suit to navigate deralict.

Race invasion mission:
-When accepted , you will need to fend off the other race wich will increase in strength according to your combat rank (starting with few m5's , then m4's etc , up to several cap ships)
To keep it realistic in duability so missions like these dont disrupt all of the sectors after several accpted , make it so suport ships arriver true the gates to keep the the fight going or/and kill off the invaders incase the player chickens out.
So if 2 cap ships and theyr escort enter shooting all ships to bits , a allied cap ship enters the sector to help out defend the sector , if it gets destroyed , another comes in , and so on.
If the players rank has reached a certan point , even stations get attacked/destroyed (in the assumption the player has the money to replace them if needed , OR , player can then accept a 'Build' mission on BBS in a nearby sector from the same race to place a missing/destroyed station for a nice amount of cash (you have x amount of time to get a TL to the required shipyard before the first step (getting the station) expieres)

-if possible keep this kind of missions to sectors that run beter then others , i asume having this fight in 'argon prime like' sectors will be no fun with low fps

TRADE :-

Once your trade rank increases, perhaps you take a mission to "monopolise" a market, you take temporary control of an AI station and you have a given ammount of time to tweak it and basicly put the opposition (whitch might be in the same sector) out of bussiness, but try and make a profit at the same time or risk putting the factory your managing into bankrupcy.

You could Escort a TL, Or a convoy of ships from point A to point B.
Perhaps taking an unschedualed detour or a stop off at a station.

BUILD :-

Perhaps you could use your TL and place a factory for an AI mission.
But to add some spice it could be in a very hostile sector, or have factions that will try to stop you.

Maybey deploy a network of spy sattelites for someone.

or construct a static blockade consisting of laser towers and squash mines or whatever other stationary defences egosoft can dream up.

FIGHT :-

Sector invasions, Sector Defending, amongst other things.

if you really want to get in with a certain race you could sign up for a tour of Duty. Perhaps a chain of missions, from fighter escort, bombing runs, perhaps distract an enemy cap ship and lure it to a group of waiting destroyers.
or a raid ona spawned station. a chain of say 10 missions that greatly increase your race rank with one race while droping it with another.

You cant keep everyone happy, something you see a lot of on these forums, why not impliment it in the game?

Troop movements, Deliver a group of Marines to a station in a TP and wait outside for 5 minutes before picking them up again and escaping, fighting off some M4's while your waiting.

THINK :-

Blockade a jumpgate with limited forces against a superior invading force, do espionage missions, scan secret instalations,

Perhaps photograph heavily defended areas.

ii also like the idea of "detective" work style missions.




Other ideas i think should be included.

Ship specific missions such as "need a destroyer to do this" mission

and if there is another plot, make it "segmented" in a way that you need to attain a certain rank or have a certain level of resources before you can do the next part.

i have many other ideas but cant think of them here and now.

Visit to Earth. New Sectors new race, therefore ships, weapons etc...

Help the Terrans by being a member of a strike force to other sectors

Defend Earth from a new threat.

Non BBS missions
As the possessor of a police licence you are 'asked' to go pickup high ranking military personnel that have been stranded after an attack by pirates on their Cruise ship.

Or 'Asked' to investigate a ship carrying illegal goods that ran a blockade.

If too many of these are refused then your police license will be revoked. And you cannot gain another for x days.

BBS missions
Help the Xenon/Khaak have found the earth gate please help.

Hey lets invade the Khaak home sectors, Paranid only?

Now I am really looking forward to the next revision.

Sector data request

Mission to provide data on stations and / or asteroids in a sector.
If your ship already has current info ala satellite, then a simple credit transfer.
If you haven't been to that sector, go/scan/return.



Scanning Missions on individual ships/stations/roids. Or find a roid of a specific resource quantity or higher. IE find me an ore roid of 25+

Be neat to see an ore mine appear there later...but not every time...only rarely.



Supplying multiple products to a single station contract. Must have all products up to a certain level in time...of course the station is using those products while you're trying to supply them too. So make sure you bring extra.

IE - All of the stations Primary and Secondary resources must be 75% or higher to receive payment.


Working for a distributor...

Multiple contracts to deliver goods to multiple stations in various sectors. Not just a single load and not always the same thing....but loads of various different items to different destinations.


Scalp collecting - Go kill X number of Xenon/Pirate/Khaak/Boron what ever in certain amount of time...


Search and retrieve - Nvidium canister lost in transit from one sector to next. Go find it and return to base. Could be any non-buyable ware.


It's been mentioned before but worth mentioning again....mission to deliver guns/shields/computer parts/etc to an equipment dock or shipyard.


Bring repair parts to a disabled ship/station. Oh wait...we don't know exactly where the ship is...somewhere behind the......."West......Gate".
Or in a specific sector but where exactly is unknown.


Transport ware to station...you must find it yourself and the buy is not always maximum...therefore you must find it for as little as possible to maximize profits. Emergency shipping, short time limit.


Driver - you must fly someone elses ship to another station. How you get back is up to you. Maybe it's legit, maybe it's stolen, maybe you're transporting illegal cargo.


Ship missing...go find it. Last seen leaving Argon Prime heading for Brennan's Triumph. Maybe it's dead, maybe it needs parts, maybe he's asleep at the wheel...


I've always wanted a Falcon - specific type of ship required to breakup and study at Boron Shipyard in Kingdom's End...or any other station for that matter. IE - Go get me a Falcon Vanguard.


Defend - pirate attack imminent - will you help defend this station?


Hey Mac....ya wanna buy some e-cells? TS offers to supply YOUR STATION with X WARE for X PRICE. Or for a cetain amount of time will make repeated runs... An alternative to the barter system. Perhaps only offered to players who own stations that have no TS's listed as owned/homebase...


Variation on ware transport....Bring X amount of Silicon, X amount of E cells, and X amount of Computer components to X station...all at the same time. Wares could be any type of course but all must be delivered simultaneously and within time limit.

Dang...I just re-invented the Boron Princess cure mission didn't I? Now why haven't we seen something like that again?


Re-supply - ship moving from X to Y needs goods delivered to it while still in transit. Could be an M4, could be a TL. Might be 3 meatsteaks, maybe 3000 silicon, 200 meatsteaks, and 150 bofu...heck, maybe he needs a docking computer or 14 canisters of water...just get it to him.
(Personally I think moving water from one station to another is silly.)


Interdict - prevent ships, any ships, from landing at X.


Embargo - prevent cargo of certain type from passing through gate X.
Of course you'll need a freight scanner. Oh...but you'll take a hit on rep if you shoot somebody still...ain't that too bad.


Break a leg - knock down the shields of target ship. But do not destroy.


Break a leg II - cause a certain amount of hull damage to a ship or station. Not destroy though. Damage 25% or something like that only.


Deliver urgent msg - find ship/pilot between sectors X & Y, close to comm range and open communications to deliver msg.


Teladi needs price info - current price of X in sector Y.


Bomb threat - scan stations in sector X for bomb. Transport bomb aboard and ditch at least 5 km from station or ships. Time limit of course. Destroy with missile after ditching or wait for timer to go off...
Could simply be a squash mine.


Bomb threat II - scan ships heading from X to Y...unknown ship has had bomb planted on board. Same deal, limited time, find and transport out of harms way.


Taking sides - IE - Split attack imminent on Kingdoms' End.
Sounds like Xenon Invasion doesn't it?


Taking sides II - IE - Help the glorious Split attack Kingdoms's End.
Alright! Fish sticks for everyone!


Product recall - Scan ships between sectors X and Y until you have located X amount of product Y. Item recalled, defective, eject and destroy.


Rogue Lasertower - Friend or Foe failure on Lasertower(s) in sector X. Destroy.


Trojan TS/TP/M4 etc - scan ships for Xenon takeover - stop them before they land at station X. Multiple targets...


Bring in spy - attack hostile squadron...but you must not destroy one specific ship. That one is piloted by a spy who you must not kill. Kill all others. Spy ship turns neutral after last enemy is destroyed but until then must stay hostile so as not to blow cover.


Ok...that's all for now...someone else come up with a few.

I'm sure that these suggestions have been made, but here goes;

In-space mission offers:
Emergency assists, retrieve ware, patrols for sectors near enemy sectors.
These would show up in Comms menu. This is No.1 on my list, to help remove 'sterile' feeling from universe. maybe a nearby pirate asking you to dump cargo, and will attack if you don't.

Here's a thought; each sector will have a BBS/NEWS satellite. get within 2 km to browse BBS. BBS will appear in Comms.
Which leads to this special Pirate mission; Satellite hacking. Pirate want to snoop for targets, right? They will offer (something) to simply fly to a sat, and the hacking software will do the rest. Nothing complicated to this, just get within 2km and keep sat tergetted for 1 min. There will need to me more race satellites added to game.

By retrieve ware I mean station X's freighter has been destroyed in x Sector en route back to station. Station manager sends out notice for reward for any cargo reclaimed and brought back to station.

Patrol points should be easy to randomly create; "Pilot, we need you to patrol N,S,E,W gates (x) times (or x,y,z coords) and destroy any hostiles, then return to this station. For this purpose we have granted a temporary police license."
(If you already have said license you could get paid double each kill.)

Station-specific missions;
Police stations that offer patrol, ship scanning missions, provide back-up to police forces in a sector.
Shipscan missions could be same as patrol, but have to scan x number off non-police/military ships at each point.

Military stations offer crowd control missions. Meaning going with miltary wing into an enemy/pirate sector and destroying x amount of M5,4,3's. Even enemy station destruction missions. Offer S&R missions.

S&R example, "Civilian, as you know, we are streched thin from the Kha'ak conflict, so we have to turn to independant operators for assistance. We have sent a patrol to x Sector have have not had a report for some time. We need you go check them out. Their last report put them at x,y,z, coordinates in x Sector. We have to assume the worst, but if you find anything, bring it back to this station."
You get there and find badly damaged ships, maybe some wares like missiles, ECs, get out and cap them, then guard them until they return to the Military station. A mission like this can be gotten from Police, as well.
If you sell ships, or keep them for too long, you lose rank, and maybe some random police/military ships will trun hostile.

Civilian/Military Research stations wanting materials like x amount of Nvidium, scanning Kha'ak sector's asteroids, Offer greater amounts for other owning race's capped ships.

Mining stations can offer scanning Uknown sector's asteroids.

Shipyards and equipment docks want ship delivery service. After all, even incompetent pilots fly better AI, right? Deliver x ship to x station by x time. I you don't get ship there by the deadline the ship goes auto back to shipyard. Can't turn off autopilot if this happens, of course. recommended you have your fighter auto'ed to protect. It does have to be delivered without a scratch in the paint, and, well, you need a ride back after delivery.

And some recurring mini-plot missions and a script for randomly appearing derelict ship/ware. Finding derelicts was fun, but so little of them.

AND there has to be at least 1 mission appearing in bulletin boards at all times.

Enough, I could go on ferever.

my 2p

from experience of the various scripts and mods.. i believe people something with a a bit more depth..

a side quest so to speak...


i took on a mission which i believe to be part of one of Cycrows scripts was a pilot had had his ship stolen and it had last been seen heading through a warpgate.... this wasnt an assasination mission a such but was just dealing out justice and trying to help out a fellow pilot... more everyday missions of helping people...

as for trading why is every station or hub privately owned and terracorp is the only big name.. perhaps trade groups or the like could be set up by NPCs... you could actually see the business expand and decline as the market changes..

I liked the plot missions alot in X3 & X2

but i alway thought that X2 did not have enough BBS missions in the numbers or varity X3 is the same so im glad there going to address this problem.

there should be more different types of BBS missions I.E.
bounty hunters( where u get a genral location & name and must find the person and either have to cature him or kill him),
assasins(more varied types like hunt yaki leaders or other pirate clans or corrupt politions,
more defending of sectors,
normal trading(E-cells),
emergancy trading(where you get paid enomous amounts for meeting tight deadlines) &
police stations so when you capture a pirate ship you can pick up the pilot as well take him there for reward

i do have more for later

holy god, These are awesome ideas everyone. Hard to come up with new, and if these couple were already stated, sorry.

What about more options on Surrender your freight, or specific freight wanted (seeing no M5 would ever destroy an M3, M2, or even a TS against M3 --- it be easier for the piolet give up that object than die. Even vise-versa. Where pirates come after your freight, or somethin you have, but no nessessary need to kill you.

Through the X universe, us piolets have what, sometimes a couple hundred ships, stations. Where not all of us can be there pesonally, to protect, and da da da. What about them, other ship owners, races who can't be there to protect, answer hails and bla, bla bla. I know, somewhat vague, but so many ideas to fill in on a post.

Other ideas I had, have been stated and don't want to repeat them.

hey ummm i not entirely sure what this topic is about but i pretty sure its just ideas FOR new missions right??

you know now that there are now wars starting between races right??

and i am thinking that wouldent it be a good idea for special missions you can get like with the Xenon Missions

but you fight against the race that is attacking the one you willing to protect

so you find a BBS mission an you get a mission asking you to join for example the Argon fleet fighting against the attacking Paranid

and depending on your rank there will be much more ships and many more with more powerfull ships and weapons loaded like multiple capital ships coming in to attack

kinda like defence missions against the Xenons

but these ones in race wars

as you know or atleast I think i know is that the argons and paranids are fighting each other and sometimes you see them attacking each other

so why cant there be BBS missions when things like when the paranid are planning to attack a sector and you can accept it and end up fighting with the Argons with there large fleet defending against the attacking paranid and like the xenon missions the more ships you kill including what class they are the more money you get and also you get a better reputation with the argons but loosing reputation with the paranid

an i think i allready mentioned but i say again the higher your rank is and reputation is with the race the bigger and more dangerouse the battle will be such as multiple capital ships and lots of fighters

or you could fight the other way round if you know what i mean

i cant see how that could be a bad idea

Have to say loved the missions. At first thought "what is going on?" especially when I was stuck in the back turret. But actually saved game at that point and went back and did it again as it was so much fun, was like a modern version of missle command or space invaders.

Would really like to see more missions were you are taken on as a gunner.

Defiantly more BBS missions and more interaction with the X-verse through the BBS.

A random and rare radio message when you enter a sector "Help me, I'm being attacked by pirates/Khaak etc" in which ever race's voice. Up to you if you want to go help or ignore it. Rewards can be different from a simple thank you, a rep increase, a reward or even a mission or job.

Actually getting a job being able to choose a career once I get into the game would be great.
Bounty hunter, Assassin, Smuggler, Military, Body Guard, Police etc

Use a script at the moment for this but Ego have implicated scripts into their games in the past :wink:

Get a cirtain number of resources within the time limit
I enjoyed these missions at the start of the game because they returned quite a few credits. In the buster it took over 30 runs to complete my first one. At the time of my first factory (now) I am still taking most of these missions. Its a great distraction for me as I dont normaly trade myself once I get rich.

The passenger is hunted by Xenon
This is my favorite mission as I was once the Xenon Slayer :-D. This mission is a huge challenge now. The new AI is such an improvement on X2 that I got ripped to threads in my 25MW Nova. The money isnt much but the fun factor is there. Absolute gold.

Assassination missions
These are the best money making missions for me so far (not onto the Xenon Invasion yet) The TL version is the only one which is a challenge so far with powerful escorts. Too bad for the TL blind spots.

Possible Improvements
The one destination taxi missions dont evolve with the progress of the player. The offers are still about 3000 credits per run when were multi millionairs. Perhaps some enemies could show up on the way or the passenger could have luggage.

A bigger challenge for the resource gathering mission would be multiple reasources needed or rivals trying to do the same as you.

Fighter drones in the assassination missions would be an irritateing disstraction to all of us hiding within the blind spots of the TLs.

Mission ideas
Protect a ship during a run
The mission is to protect a ship between stations from attacks. Attackers could be Xenon, Pirates or Yaki. Easier variations should be for the ship to move within the sector with few enemies. There could be several ships on your side. The hardest variations should be for the ship to move through several sectors with little stops and several waves of enemies.

Rough text:
“This is a call to all fighter ships. We currently have a freighter which needs to make urgent runs. We expect opposition. We need a ship to fly as an escort. Upon acceptance you will be given the relevant details and a final chance to pull out at a price.”

“So, you think you can handle this escort duty? I will not lie. There is a chance you will be overwhelmed. We can’t promise support as resources are low. Below are the details of the mission. If they don’t suit you then you can pull out now at a price of <credits>. This is a security measure. If you also run now you will be treated as a Pirate and notified to the authorities.
The total number of stops is <number>. The first stop will be in the sector <sector>. You will expect <number> reinforcement on your wing. If you accept you will be given a chance to pull out at every station at no cost. The reward is <credits> per station and <credits> for a full completion of the mission. Do you accept this mission?

Rescue a ship under attack
The mission is to protect a ship currently under attack in a sector. The player is called to help though the incoming message. The ship will be a normal AI ship. The enemies will be the only created ships in this mission. They will not be too powerful or they will destroy the ship too quickly. The ship will be expected to reach the next station before payment. Payment will be judged on how many ships you destroyed or if you stayed close to the ship if all enemys were destroyed. If you attack the ship it is an instant fail plus the usual repercussions of race attacks.

Rough text:
“Hey you! Help me, I’m under attack. Please. Take care of these guys and I’ll pay you when I reach the next station.”

Kill Xenon / Kha’ak with no police licence
Some Xenon or Kha’ak ships have jumped in and are attacking. Just like the Xenon invasion missions you will be rewarded per ship. These could be special events that happen if you take part or not. In which case AI ships will need to be brought in to help defend.

Rough text:
“Greetings pilot. I’m not sure if you’ve noticed but we’re having a little situation here. Can we count on your support to drive these forces from our system? You will be rewarded per ship you kill. We need a victory here. Will you help?”
[Sure. Bring them on!]

Kill Xenon / Kha’ak with police licence
Some Xenon or Kha’ak ships have jumped in and are attacking. Just like the Xenon invasion missions you will be rewarded per ship. These could be special events that happen if you take part or not. In which case AI ships will need to be brought in to help defend.
You will be expected to take part in this as you have a licence (a downside). You will be paid extra for each kill. If you don’t take part you risk losing your licence and notoriety with the race. It could possibly depend on what kind of ship you are flying.

“Attention pilot. We have checked your profile. It seems you are a qualified to defend this sector. We need you to save lives. This is an order, not a request.”

Join an attack party to a Xenon Sector
Some Argon and Split pilots feel that the Kha’ak are not the most destructive force in the X-universe. The Xenon have been left alone for to long and their numbers need to drop before all races face a new Xenon conflict. Coupled with the Kha’ak invasion a new war may wipe out all military forces. These pilots want help in attacking the Xenon within their own territory. Many ships will gather in sectors bordering Xenon sectors. The plan will be to destroy as many ships as possible and then retreat with jump drives. All ships should be M4 and above fighters. Some times capital ships will be used. When a ship is damaged to 50% hull they will attempt to jump out within 10 seconds to the sector they came from. The player will simply be an extra ship. A jump drive is not needed but is recommended. If all Xenon in range are destroyed (normally if the player uses excessive force) all ships will pull out.

“This is a message to all pilots who want to attack the true scourge of the universe; the Xenon. A task force is currently building up in $Sector to attack $Xenon.Sector. The mission is a simple hit and run. We want to deal the most damage at the minimum loss to life. As soon as you are significantly damaged, pull out of the sector. This is not a military operation so don’t expect many capital ships, this will be dangerous. We may even wipe out $Xenon.Sector with enough fire power. If you want to be informed on the progress of the task force or even to join us, press the button below.”

Fetch parts for a broken ship
This was one from X-Tension. You would be hailed by a stationary ship who have been attacked. They need computer components to get the ship moving again and you need to provide them. This could have a possible time limit. A variation could be a damaged TP which needs a cargo life support system before the passengers die, although this idea may be a bit to mature for the younger players.

Race a ship to a station
Yet an other mission from X-Tension. Apon entering a sector or even within the station bbs you will be offered a race to a station. The ship should be slightly quicker as the player can make shortcuts better than the AI. Sector racing is apparently illegal so perhaps the authoritys could try to block you.

Take photos of ships
An other mission from X-Tension. You will take part in an artical for a military magazine. You need to track down the ships listed and fly within a small distance to "take the photo". Some people may not like this such as the Paranid and Split and try to take you down. The offerer of the mission may also not be what she/he seems.

Protect retreating ships
A sector has been attacked by a Kha'ak force. Instead of fighting the enemies directly you need to stay near to a convoy of frieghters. Kha'ak will jump in very closely to try and split up the ships. Your reward will depend on how many ships from the convoy get through to the next sector.

Transport a station for a NPC
In X3 there are new stations poping up every where. If you own a TL you could be offered a mission to pick up a station, transport it and then build it for a none playable character. There should be some form of restriction where you cant claim the station, no matter what.

Catch the spacefly
A little girls rare blue spacefly has flown out of the airlock at a local station. You need to capture it using the spacefly collector and ion disruptor and bring it back. Perhaps a "scanner" could be fitted to the ship to pick up the uniqe energy field of the blue spacefly.

How about loansharks?

They could appear from time to time on the BBS and lend you money (at an extortionate rate of interest, of course!). You would then need to repay them in full within the set time frame or they'd come and break your legs. This could be through direct attacks (larger ships/fleets for larger loans) but it might be more effective (and interesting!) if they just used their pirate hacker buddies to turn some/all stations against you. Cross a loanshark once and suddenly you can't dock at any Teladi station until you pay your debts..... Cross him twice and he sends the rest of the universe to hunt you down :twisted:
