No one said it was EES....

It is jobs v4 that is causing game freezes. This is well documented over the last few pages of the jobs thread.

Please use the link for the 3.6e version in the jobs main post.

Ensure you have not installed the optional MARS mod. This is not compatible with the srm. Please see the main post for compatibility info regarding mars. Ensure you are not running any other incompatible mods. There are no known freeze issues with the srm or cmod if installed correctly.

What's even more disturbing, there are people running Jobs v4 fine. As for 3.6e I can confirm Jobs-Unleashed-Civs.txt works for me. Which version did you use?

I'm not aware of anyone running v4 of jobs without issues.

But whatever the cause, freezes mid-game are generally script related rather than anything to do with a mod, and the srm/cmod scripts are quite simple and also have not changed much for a long time. If there were issues with them, I'd know about it.

Hmm, I'm still seeing missile turrets on the Lotan and Osprey Sentinel. Did you remember to press 'save' when you changed it.

Have you updated your hull pack? Have you got a rogue TShips anywhere?

The turrets are definitely gone. The problem is with your install somewhere.

I don't use the Hull pack. All I have is CMOD, SRM, CMOD-MRM, Trails, and NoStationWrecks.

Well something must be blocking the srm tshipd as the missile turrets are definitely gone and other users have commented on the new turrets so there is no issue with the srm.

Will you change sector properties in XRM ? I was thinking about making greater distances between stations and jumpgates, how about that sort of changes ?

That's what I can't figure out. I can make changes to TShips and the changes appear ingame. I'll keep looking.

Aren't the missile turrets (all turrets, really) determined by TCockpits? TShips says which cockpit to use, but TCockpits defines weapon compatibility, and turrets with no compatible weapons default to missiles. Anyway, have you tried cloning the affected ships or just spawning brand new ones to see if the problem exists in your current game files?

I did everything I could think of. I uninstalled and reinstalled X3, started a new game, etc. Still Missiles.

I'm also still getting missile turrets on my Osprey S.'s.
Admitting you have a problem is the first step in figuring out how to make it worse.

OK - once again...

I have absolutely, definitely removed the missile turrets from both the Nagoya and the Osprey Sentinel.

If you are still seeing missile turrets then you have done something wrong at your end.

Have you all cloned these ships? The new turrets will not work unless you clone them - as stated in the release notes (Osprey shouldn't need cloning as it was just a missing entry in TCockpits - see below).

Regards to the Nagoya, what is loaded in the turrets is determined by both TShips and TCockpits, but TShips is what primarily determines what goes where, so that is the file that is wrong.

Regards to the Osprey Sentinel, the only reason that had missiles in the first place is because the TCockpits entry that TShips was pointing to was blank. This is not the case any more. So if you are getting a Nagoya without a missile turret, but you still see one on the Osprey, then you have a rogue TCockpits somewhere which is blocking the SRM TCockpits.

Possible reasons:

You have not installed the latest SRM.

You have an outdated hull pack.

You have not cloned the Nagoya.

You have extracted TShips or TCockpits for some reason, stuck it in your types folder and forgotten you'd done it.

You have another mod installed which has a TShips or TCockpits in and is at a higher cat/dat.

For reference - a post from someone who has a working gun turret on the Nagoya in place of a missile turret:

You say you are editing TShips - are you sure you are editing the correct version? An easy check is this:

Find the Nagoya. Under turrets, find turret number 7. Its viewport should be SS_COCKPIT_TER_FRONT_M2 and it should be populated by two Prophecy weapons. If it is not then you are not using the current version of TShips.

I can confirm, that the Nagoya is now a fully functional all gun heavy destroyer  there are NO missile tubes now!

You guys must have done something wrong when installing....
