Good question :?: Not got that far in the game. I'll test, if there is still a jump distance between Aldrin and other sectors it shouldn't be an issue.

I will play around with it once you upload the new version as well. You can jump to it, I think it was 150 ecells from the Asteroid Belt to Aldrin.

FDNv3.2 release

Post by Logain Abler »

Hi All,

FDNv3.2 is now ready for download.

There is no change to the Cat/Dat files so this is compatible with v3.1.
There are two main changes in this update, along with a lot of tweaks.
Station now have to be linked to a Node or Relay, this is to allow multiple Nodes /Relays access to a sector. A Station can only be linked to one Node/Relay at a time. Complexes are broken down in the menu to their component Stations so Stations within Complexes can be linked to separate Node/Relays.

There is a new Station menu that can be accessed from the Node/Relay menu which will give access to the sector Stations. Again all Stations need to be within Advance Satellite range, including those that are part of a Complex.

If you are updating FDN from v3.1 you will need to ensure that you link up all your Station, FDN’s default is un-linked.

Docks will also need to be linked as they could be within range of multiple Nodes; the Dock menu has been updated to list all Nodes in range so one can be picked. IF a Dock is linked to a Node via a Relay and the Relays links is broken or changed the Docks link will have to be reset.

I have also added Node to Node connectivity. Each Node can now be paired with another Node. I have only built a one-to-one link. There is a new menu available from the Node which manages the Node linkage and the ware. Wares been to be allowed each way and there is also an option to manually move wares.

The Node Relay menu has been moved to its own menu, accessed from the main Node menu.

I have uploaded the full mod (17MB):

And for those who have already downloaded the mod on FDNv3.1 there is a .spk update:

Have fun

LA :)

Well I think I "may" have found my readtext file problem. I had only installed the 2/22/09 .spk instead of the whole mod   I am using the fake patch method this time around ^_^

OK quick question. I downloaded the full mod (from above) but the cat/dat files are still labeled 3.1 and there is nothing else there. Do I need the spk as well or are the files just mislabeled?

I'm downloading again, Winrar & Winzip didn't like it. It may have been the download that was corrupt. Will let you know how I get on.

It could fix the 0/0 issue as I have made some changes in that area.

Edit: Still no good, I get this:

Code: Select all

Use Path: yes Overlay Files: no
skipping: X3TC Save 01\X01.sav this file is not in the standard Zip 2.0 format.
Please see www.winzip.com/zip2.htm for more information.
Version needed value for this file is 63.
   Compression method value is 14.

Hi Mate,

Looks like there were a few issues with your setup, the main one being that not all station were in Adv Sat coverage. An example was the Unknown Sector east of Montalaar where you had two large complexes, not all the stations within the complex were in Adv Sat range so FDN couldn’t see them.

Also the Relays was not linked so nothing in that Sector was reaching the Node, so all the energy being produced in your resource complex were going nowhere.
[ external image ]

There was also a sector with a Relay & Trade Post in but not within range of a Node:
[ external image ]

As was a Crystal Complex, but this had no Relay:
[ external image ]

Not sure if the last two were intentional?
Once I had everything linked up I needed another XXL SPP to balance the Energy out, there was more going out than coming in, but not by much.

LA

edit: Your really don't like the Split!
Also noticed a typo on the wares report which I will need to change!

Most are additions rather than re-doing the lot. There are a couple of changes. I was just going through and doing a compare for you.

Hm, text ID 222 has no content. Forgot something or have you only deleted that entry to maintain the order?

EDIT:
Found a small misspelling in ID 518, 1142 and 1143. I think you hate the word available. :D
