Just as a note, civilian shipyards used to be called wharf/wharves in the old games (XTended and its sequel continued it). Not saying "showroom" is a bad name, just depends on how canon you're trying to be.

Actually, if you want to get technical... each race had its own name and the Teladi one was a Teladi Showroom (at least thats what it is in the main text file and where I got the Betty "Showroom" phrase from).


EDIT:

There was a Federal Argon Wharf, Split Dockyard, Paranid Pier, Royal Boron Dry-Dock and Teladi Showroom.

One thing I will say - don't be expecting anything too radical. I have in my mind that release date for X-Rebirth and I certainly want to start playing that game rather than modding this one (if my PC will cope...).

There are lots of ideas I have in mind though which wouldn't be too hard to impliment. Xenon weapons is one of them. I'd also like to move all Civilian ships and fabs out of military shipyards and into the Corporate Showrooms. In fact, a rejig of the universe might be in order...

I laughed. Seriously, this is slowly turning into XTC. The extra waresize, racial weapons. If you're willing to take it on, Paul, I'd say to go for it, and let me know if I can help.

Oh, and I wouldn't want to speak for Mizuchi, but my first interpretation of XRM was 'X(3TC)-Rebalance Mod'.

i just noticed TS wont dock to a condor mk1. you can give it the command but the ship just flies around the M1 without docking. i tried the docking computer as well but still doesnt work.

Been having some problems with the weapon dealer facilities, the docks are there but they have 0% hull and ships cannot dock at them, any ideas on how to fix this? I paid attention to the installation order so that should not be the problem.

I don't think it has TS docking nodes. None of the mk1 carriers do.

Try turning the AL plugin off and on again. If that doesn't work, check to see if you have another mod that changes TFactories.

First I'd wait for the next update from Cadius and then implement his ships into SRM + some other ships (propositions?) + remaining bug fixes. And then HALT and make it final. More radical changes -> XRM.

An idea for future. How about adding a camo to all Argon big ships (m7,m7m,m1,m2, maybe m6 too?) marked as 'military'. By camo I mean something like dazzle camo used extensively on wwI, ww2 ships , or Pixel camo used nowdays. Best inspirations come from the past :) I have my trust in Mizuchi :)


No for making weapons more racial. Personally I like the weapons defined by Egosoft and I'd keep SRM closer to the 'source', racial weapons will only push this 'rebalance mod' much further. Also NO for 'no ammo' I mean keep the ammo :) I use Gazz ai ammo cheat anyways and ammo manufacturing plants are good buyers.

There is absolutely no way I am going to do this for the same reasons as to why I wouldn't make police skins for police ships. (Sorry!)

The time investment would be phenominal for what would basically be a cosmetic change that you would only rarely see unless you were up close and personal with a big ship.

Take a look at the Yaki: while the decals I added are pretty neat (if I say so myself), you never really get a good look at them unless you target one and hit F3.

Besides which, due to how the Capital Ships are textured (via tiled "panels" of textures rather than overlays as with fighters), it would be very, very difficult to accomplish unless someone were to convert all the panel textures into one big texture sheet.

Even if that was accomplished, Paul would have to add different Tships entires for Military Argon Ships (to use the next texture and associated model) to differenciate them from normal Argon Ships, so it'd get very messy very quickly. :|

Things that I can think of.....

Nagoya......a full gun version please as discussed earlier, either replacing the current model or 2 separate model's eg A and B version.

All Persus and Susanowa models to be increased by 20%.

OTAS Notus model needs to be increased by 20%.

Cobra cockpit position needs changing (this has bug me from day 1 of Vanilla) its just in a daft position, when their is a perfectly good bridge on the model for it to be put in.

And thats it really..........i still think we need to find a model to replace the OTAS Borea's with, which would be going full circle with this mod, as it was the Boreas V's Python argument that got someone else to start the original mod so long ago.

Chikyu needs more power for guns..it's pathetic as-is.

Enhanced Elite needs to be better. Better weapon compabiltiy or another shield generator. Right now I see no difference between it and a normal elite.

The Chikyu only has slightly less laser energy than the Sabre, but it goes a lot faster. If you want more laser energy, go for the Sabre. Every ship has its failings.

The Enhanced Elite goes a lot faster than the standard one and it turns better.

You'll all be pleased to know the Nagoya no longer has a missile turret and has two quad guns in a new front turret.

Now I could have sworn there was more than one of Cadius' ships with missile turrets one when it wasn't an M7M, but can I find them? No.

Can any one think of another ship that needs its missile turret removed? I only want them on M7Ms, M8s and M3Bs.

There are three of Cadius's ships I can think of with missile turrets:-
  • USC Nagoya (M2)
    USC Hakata (M7)
    ATF Lofn (TM)

Thanks - although only the Lofn has one in the SRM (at least it did, till now!) - Hakata/Tepukei seems to not have one.

The Trladi Tern can't use Mosquito missiles.

I find this odd.
