About the name - i was lost for a name on the forum and looking round, then a Bob Hope film came on, and i thought "that will do nicely"

Surely hats like sayign you'll never buy more than one racing game as they are all just rehashed versions of some ancient GP game?bob hope wrote:well, ive noticed the price has risen by £10, this will be something that will wait to be bought i think, new games i may buy for £30 but rehashed games i think not

They've been mentioned in passing by bernd I believe, though nothing specific, the impression I got was pretty much the same as X3:R, though I little more RAM may be beneficial, and as always with X, the more processing power the better, but I doubt it will require much more than X3:R.
I know, I know, could that sentance be more vague?

And I'll be buying Terran conflict when it comes out.
However will the system specification requirements be greather? Conclusion:Generally I can say that the game will run on medium settings on all midrange Graphics cards down to the Gf6000 series. Starting with a Gf 8000series card I would under any circumstances activate 2* or better 4* AA. Like I already said. It's important that the system memory matches the graphics card. Too often I see systems with 1GB RAM and a killer graphics card. That's nonsense. The ressources loaded into the graphics card are generally mirrowed in the system memory. A 512MB graphics card should at least have 2GB of system memory on it's side. Although with a 32bit Windows 4 GB of system RAM are only limitedly useful, it is still recommendable regarding the actual prices. Besides that X3TC, of course, runs stable on WINXP 64bit or Vista64bit systems too. (It can however only use up to 2 GB because the game is a 32bit EXE). The newest graphics cards (we just got a 4850 ) then can start with 1920*1280 with 4*AA or higher). On such systems the limiting factor is the CPU.
The minimum CPU is a P4 with 3 ghz or a dual core with 2,4 ghz. It's with all of our games: the more the better. You can do almost everything in our universe, but to do so you need power.
1. Processor
better than P4 3 GHz
or
Dual Core 2,4 GHz
2. Memory (RAM)
better than
2 GB,
but 4GB and more best.
3. Video
better than Geforce 6200.

Although I will definitely buy this game even if I need to give twice as much still X3:TC is more expansion then new game. Especially if you take in to account XTN mod.Al wrote:rehashed? I think that fault lies with ego, we havent seen a great deal that doesnt look like x3 with xtm and ui mod, but just call me a cynic.Al wrote:rehashed? Do you know something the rest of us dont? amazon.co.uk list the RRP as £30 and display the only platform as vista.

Just re-read that recommended spec,CBJ wrote:System requirements now added here.
- Soundcard (Surround Sound support recommended)
Has X always supported SS ?
- ...(optional support for force-feedback)
Is that new ?
- 3GBytes RAM
I know X3 uses a lot of memory, but does TC memory usage get that high ?

Neither of these are new. Force Feedback support is limited to collisions, as before.exogenesis wrote:Just re-read that recommended spec,

There is no error in the requirements or the recommended specification. The more memory you can throw at a game like this the better.exogenesis wrote:- 3GBytes RAM

I take that means: "give X3:TC all it can address and leave some more for the rest of the system"?Microsoft KB wrote:On a modern operating system such as Windows Vista, applications run within their own private virtual address space. Typically, the size of the virtual address space is fixed at 2 gigabytes (GB) for 32-bit applications. How much virtual address space is available is not related to how much physical memory there is on the computer.
