And here's your new SotW, another masterpiece from Terre. :)

For the next week, I'm hoping for some more submissions from you all. ;)

@Roger
Your submission with the Osaka also looks really nice. :)

Yeah.......I forgot to upload a few screenies from my latest batch of shots. So I guess they can be contenders for the next SoTW. Email will be sent shortly as soon as the uploading is complete.

Anyhoo, here's some other screenies in the meantime.

I was just going through my screen shot folder, pulled out a few interesting ones.

Also, does anyone find this shot a bit odd:

The odd shot

By the way, anyone know how to get the [ external image ]

(The picutre is 160X90 and is 30KB in size)

It could be that the image does not a have the three letter file type identifier, which in this case appears to be '.jpg'.

Did you end up hitting the thumbnail link? That's the only thing I can think of.

As to the odd shot I recall pic's that had an atmospheric reflection to them. I think it depends on the where the sun is located and the angle of the shot taken.

Do you mean the url should have .jpg in it?

Tumbnail link? I have no idea what you're saying.

As for the odd shot, nope. I photoshoped it. :P To get rid of a few things. Here is the original. See if you can spot the differences. :)

What I meant was the link that you used for a thumbnail image, see both Terre's and my image's in prior posts in the upper portion of the page. Those images are considered thumbnails that link to full sized images.

As to the difference between the odd pic and the original, easy. Mars has a ship shadow/outline at the bottom left of the screen that's poking the planet in the original pic. :P

Ok but the thing is the image I'm trying to show using [ external image ].

Correct. But try taking a closer look at the nose of the Nova.

Doesn't quite work that way. Use this format:

Code: Select all

And use thumbnails, not the full images, to avoid posting oversize images.

Forum Rule 8: Images posted should not exceed 640 x 480 and 100kb in size.

And in this thread, with all the images being posted, it's polite to use thumbnails, not full images, even if they fall within the rule's limits.
Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.

Look at the enlarged image closer. Look at the planet and the nose of the Nova.

Thanks!
So:

Hmm that didn't seem to work. Maybe it's just where I host my images.

The problem is that the URL in between the [ external image ] tags needs to end with a picture extension (PNG/JPG/BMP/... etc) for them to identify it as an image. Photobucket is a good candidate for hosting images and getting the required URL format (may be others).

Time for a new SotW, this time submitted by Le Baron. :)

@Terre
Multiple submissions are no problem, so don't think too long about which one you could submit next time, just send them. :)

@Deadbeat_Spinn
Nice screenshots, two of them had good chances to become the SotW, but finally the Hydra won. And next time send your candidates as file attachments please instead of the links. ;)
