For the next week, I'm hoping for some more submissions from you all.

@Roger
Your submission with the Osaka also looks really nice.

Yeah.......I forgot to upload a few screenies from my latest batch of shots. So I guess they can be contenders for the next SoTW. Email will be sent shortly as soon as the uploading is complete.Ogerboss wrote:.......For the next week, I'm hoping for some more submissions from you all......

It could be that the image does not a have the three letter file type identifier, which in this case appears to be '.jpg'.Technojerk36 wrote:By the way, anyone know how to get the [ external image ]
(The picutre is 160X90 and is 30KB in size)
Do you mean the url should have .jpg in it?Terre wrote:It could be that the image does not a have the three letter file type identifier, which in this case appears to be '.jpg'.
Tumbnail link? I have no idea what you're saying.Deadbeat_Spinn wrote:Did you end up hitting the thumbnail link? That's the only thing I can think of.
As to the odd shot I recall pic's that had an atmospheric reflection to them. I think it depends on the where the sun is located and the angle of the shot taken.

Ok but the thing is the image I'm trying to show using [ external image ].Deadbeat_Spinn wrote:What I meant was the link that you used for a thumbnail image, see both Terre's and my image's in prior posts in the upper portion of the page. Those images are considered thumbnails that link to full sized images.
Correct. But try taking a closer look at the nose of the Nova.Deadbeat_Spinn wrote:As to the difference between the odd pic and the original, easy. Mars has a ship shadow/outline at the bottom left of the screen that's poking the planet in the original pic.

Doesn't quite work that way. Use this format:Technojerk36 wrote:Ok but the thing is the image I'm trying to show using [ external image ].....Deadbeat_Spinn wrote:What I meant was the link that you used for a thumbnail image, see both Terre's and my image's in prior posts in the upper portion of the page. Code: Select all

Thanks!Nanook wrote: Doesn't quite work that way. Use this format:
And use thumbnails, not the full images, to avoid posting oversize images.Code: Select all

Forum Rule 8: Images posted should not exceed 640 x 480 and 100kb in size.
And in this thread, with all the images being posted, it's polite to use thumbnails, not full images, even if they fall within the rule's limits.

The problem is that the URL in between the [ external image ] tags needs to end with a picture extension (PNG/JPG/BMP/... etc) for them to identify it as an image. Photobucket is a good candidate for hosting images and getting the required URL format (may be others).Technojerk36 wrote:[ external image ]
Hmm that didn't seem to work. Maybe it's just where I host my images.
