I wonder how much of an impact the ballot box burning is going to have. I doubt it will be that big. Meanwhile Trump supporters are trying their hand at some good old fashioned voter intimidation, which failed.

Headline:
“Machete-wielding teen arrested after group is accused of intimidating Democratic supporters at Florida polling station, police say.”

Oh, that's not even all of it. The MAGA morons are picking fights with the poll workers when they're being told to take their MAGA junk off cuz it's illegal to campaign or display political attire within a certain distance of polling locations in most states. So the "law and order" party starts throwing punches and getting physical with the poll workers when they're being made to comply with the law.

Trump has filed a lawsuit against CBS over what Trump claims is that they doctored and edited Harris 60 minute interview. CBS has denied such claims and will defend itself from the lawsuit, But the judge might be a Trump appointee and has ruled the past in favour of the former president.
Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Former President Donald Trump sued CBS News on Thursday in federal court charging it deceptively edited a 60 Minutes interview with Vice President Kamala Harris to show her in a more positive light in the presidential campaign.

The $10 billion lawsuit said the interview with Trump's Democratic presidential opponent was "partisan and unlawful acts of election and voter interference through malicious, deceptive and substantial news distortion."

Not to mention everyone would expect goverment / national guard to be better prepared this time, otherwise it's "fool me once shame on you...".
My fear is that there are enough die hard Trump supporters in the military/police that they would actually support such an insurrection, after having been duped into thinking the election was stolen from them.

There's no chance that lawsuit is going to go anywhere otherwise Faux News and its ilk would get destroyed in the blink of an eye.

That would require coordination and conspiracy that would be easily picked by Secret Service and FBI - similar to that coup preparation in Germany 2-3 years ago.

If anything, potential conspirators would be going nuts around every corner wondering, if it's not a provocation or set-up.

So the vote is looking like it will be 271 to 268 in favour of Harris, but one of the Republican states has been holding back their vote, they suddenly declare their vote as null and void due to fraudulent voting, so their 3 college votes are removed from the count. Their vote had been in favour of Harris, so she looses those 3 votes, meaning the count goes back to 268 to 268 a draw, neither person outright wins. When this happens the vote goes to the senate where each state representative gets to make a single vote on behalf of their state on who they think should be the next President and as there are more Republican Senators than Democrat Senators, Trump wins. The result goes to the SCOTUS for them to decide on the legitimacy of the election result which they rightly declare as being legal and standing, Trump wins and is declared the next President of the United States.

Believe it or not, this is a scenario that the Republicans have been working on over the last few years, and it is all legal and how a result from a draw is decided, and they have put their people in place and gave them the means to legally hold back their states results. I would like to shake the hand of the person who thought this was a good idea and say to them, you're a very smart person.

you mean the house, not the senate, but that's what I've been screaming about for months. This is what a civil war will be fought over.

Sorry I got that bit wrong. To be honest I wasn't sure about it and I couldn't be bothered to go and look it up, so I took a guess, and it looks like I guessed it wrong. Doesn't take away that it is a pretty awful bit of legislation, that just screams abuse me.

Well no, see the purpose of that law is pretty simple. This is not a defense of the electoral college but an explanation of the tie breaker law.

To become president you have to win at least 270 electoral votes. It is mathematically possible for candidates to receive less than 270, in which case there will be no electoral victor. This can happen if say a 3rd party candidate were to win enough states to prevent either front runner from getting to 270. In that case, the vote goes to the house where in each state gets to cast 1 vote for the highest 2 candidates. If that goes to a tie, then it goes to a coin flip (no joke).

This begs a question - was there ever a coin flip, or less than 270 that cause House voting?

So the day is upon us now. I am hopeful that America will do what is right, because from all my experience with Americans in my life, there are a great many kind, decent, friendly, helpful and over all wonderful people in America. To anyone in America I wish you the best of luck with whatever is to come.

200 years ago from a legitimate race between 4 candidates. Of course, we didn't have 50 states then and the margin for victory was 131, not 270. But John Quincy Adams was chosen by the house to serve as president.

Well sure, but the circumstances aren't remotely the same. Henry Clay was disqualified from being considered by the house as the 4th runner up and traded his vote for a cabinet position under Adams. This modern day douche is trying to prevent certification all together without merit because he's conspired with house republicans to have him handed the presidency.

Just watched a little news, and really wish I hadn't. Am I reading the results to date wrong, or does it look like he's likely to win... Damn, I'd head off to Mars, but that's now allied with him too.
