Missions simular to one in X3R where you need to escort Mammoth and protect it against khaak... Also escort missions where you need to protect M1/M2 ships and if my ship get damaged I can dock and get repairs and resupply(something like wing commander missions ) And all M1 ships should be able to repair drones/fighters

It's not world hunger because we can't feed poor,it's because there will never be enough to feed the rich .....

I would like the transfer between different sectors to be completely seamless. Whether it takes loading up adjacent sectors into memory, or hiding the loading when in transit behind in-cockpit warp tunnels (while still being able to interact with things in the cockpit & menus) the player should never feel like they are waiting for the computer. Ever. It kills immersion.
Also, if the player is going to be stuck in the one ship, it would be nice if they could seriously mod the heck out of it. Like get it to handle like the Springblossom, but pack enough shields and weapons to take down an M2; it will just take a long time, and be very difficult. That said, the upgrades required to do that should be far more expensive than simply buying a decent M2, and getting it to fight for you. Clearly the extra cost would be explained by everything having to be miniaturised to fit. Perhaps one of your crew could be an engineer, who can take a piece of tech, and build a miniaturised prototype, with a significant outlay of time and resources?
Finally, I want to be able to fly up behind a capital ship, blow out its engines, and then proceed to pick off its weapons and shields (kind of like you can in Freespace 1/2) before landing on it and sending in the marines. And it would also be sweet to implement a simple cover-based shooter system where you can join your marines and help take the ship.
Yes, I realise much of what I'm hoping for won't happen

As far as physics is concerned, even travelling at just under the speed of light, you can get anywhere in seconds. It's just that time dilation means that even if it takes you 2 seconds to fly between Earth and Pluto, 7 days would have passed when you got there.pjknibbs wrote:The in-game fluff *said* that LDS was limited to lightspeed, but it clearly wasn't--it was capable of getting you from the inner planets to the outer planets of a solar system in a matter of seconds or minutes, whereas a journey like that carried out at near lightspeed would take hours.Huillam wrote: LDS drive (wich was limited to the speed of light) was a kind of jump drive with a nice animation.
Clearly if you did that in X Rebirth, touring the galaxy with LDS would become the new SETA.

By far the most important thing I would like to see in Rebirth would be cheap affordable kitchens XD.
Sorry I meant a spaceport bar. An added bonus would be if the bar had affordable real wood cabinets...Sorry again XD ...But definitely the bar.

You can be cool, or you can be nasty, but as soon as you are one, you are not the other.

Which reminds me,ismalakas wrote:It's a long shot but I would love to see randomized items like weapons, shields, drones etc...
Everything you pick-up is different with some special properties and added perks or penalties.
In Age of Pirates 2 (naval trade simulation), ship statistics were randomised around some fixed values. So a frigate usually has 12 speed but each time you encounter a frigate in the game it has a random value around 12 (either 13, 11 or inbetween).
When applied to all the ship's statistics, this gives the impression that every ship is unique and you can always find better ones.
Even though in X rebirth you'll be piloting 1 ship, it's possible to randomise the stats of capital ships? or turrets? each time you produce one, it's a bit different.
EDIT: doesn't this already exist in previous X?

I'm naturally unfriendly sometimes. Don't take what I say too badly.

Have you read the available info on Rebirth? The Skunk will have a linear upgrade path which depends on completing the plot. Where are you getting the idea that it is anything else? You can carry all upgrades at once, you can't mix gun types, there is no cargo barrier to prevent you from taking all upgrades.Cabrelbeuk wrote:The modulability of the ship will be enough i think for making your ship unique. No need of random stats, which are not acceptable because you can't change.
If you want a different perspective, stand on your head.

Except i thought we were thinking about ship and modules stats, not how landing shots on your target works.Earth ultimatum IV. wrote:Random projectile spread. I kinda like it, better than point-click laser never-missing thingies.Nukah wrote:I'm not sure i like the idea of random.
(Examples: hipfiring in FPS shooters, that works quite fine)
Anyhow, this isint a FPS, if you're attacking a ship ten time the size of the titanic, hitting it should be trivial.
And if you've tried to shoot down m5s with HEPT, you'll see accuracy isint the factor to whether you hit your target or not!

Yes I will! You can dock the Skunk inside your capital ships, and watch the action from observation deck and give out commands to captain in X:R.

The Skunk will have a linear upgrade too, some stuff will be accessible only with the plot, but i'm pretty sure that i've read that it's modulable too.Slashman wrote:Have you read the available info on Rebirth? That's pure speculation. There's been no official statement either way.Cabrelbeuk wrote:...

It also does not say you get possible upgrades other than through the plot. I challenge you to show where it was stated that you can upgrade/modify the Skunk separate from the plot.
From what I understand, you don't do the plot, you can't upgrade your ship.

Well, that point is unknown. Bernd talks only about unlocking tech, not acquiring it, but he also says "something won't be available until you find it". So, maybe, it also means that you'll get your upgrades for free.
From what I understand, you can't omit the plot - unless you are happy with somehow limited universe and other options around, not only Skunk upgrades.
