Some of it is the recording - even saving to RAM takes some work, but that sector lags a good bit for me now thanks to the complex hub. If there were ever a battle in there, I would be in trouble.

I'm starting to wonder about this XFire thing. I've suddenly started having issues after about 2 hours of gameplay where the galaxy map suddenly has no icons. Then, a few minutes later, the game slows to a horrible crawl - 1 frame per 5 seconds horrible. I ran without XFire running and still got the problem, though, so it could just be coincidence.

Anyway, three quickies.... These in a sector without a complex in it.

The following video is real. It is not doctored nor is it a mod. Three out of four guys at the space fuel bar who said they were scientists agreed that it must be real. This cannot be denied!

Video proof!!

P.S. Man, you know you got nailed when a second missile splits your 'game over' message. Ouch.

Edit: And another!

Was so busy yesterday that I forgot to upload the new SotW. Sorry for that delay. So here is the new winner of this week's competition. Again it was Terre who shot this nice one.

Entering one of my 6 Large Orbital Weapons Platforms in an "Unknown Sector". ;)

Part of the 66 factory complex "MadGizmo Missile Fab X delta" in Mines of Fortune. My graphics card died while creating that one. :(

The smaller "MadGizmo Missile Fab X gamma" in Asteroid Belt produces the missiles I actually use. The ones created by that huge complex are mostly for sale. :P

Just when leaving the Asteroid Belt I came across that. :)

Back to screenshotting. Using a little bigger thumbnails but still less than 640x480. (More like half that.)

Hi and welcome to the forum. Your screens are good, but would be better if you'd turn out the hud by pressing Shift + H before doing the shots :)

And get the mouse pointer out of the way. I end up throwing away half my shots because I keep forgetting the fool pointer!

The mouse coursor isn't a reason for me to throw the screens where it is to see away.

Thank for the advice. I know it but the problem is most of my screen are random and I rarely remember pressing the keys. :P

I also intentionally leave the HUD on for some pics so that anyone new know that they can do the same in the game. :)

- some nice shots in there, dude..
- also you make a good point, the HUD definitely adds an "in-game action" feel in some cases..
- a mixture of shots would be nice..

- have any HUD shots ever made it to SOTW, though?
- there's just too many to look through..!! :D
- the whole universe is running in BETA mode - we're working on it.. beep..!! :D

Here's a quicky word of advice from an aging gamer... KEEP your screenshots! These things are fun to look at years later. I wish I had taken more back in the old'en days.

Yep, there were a few, but really just a few. Since I'm handling the SOTWs I mostly take screens without the HUD, because I want to the motives of the picture and not the HUD. But if you guys want me to take some shots with HUD I'm fine :)

Btw. I still haven't decided yet which screen is going to become SotW this week.

That looks like one of the early teaser shots, but as a subject it is worth another attempt.

Well, Terre. You're good in making screens worth becoming Screenshot of the Week. Congrats again :)
