Maybe a Moderator could open a thread offering 3 questions for each member to ask, then Bernd could try and answer as many as possible.

[understandably not all could be answered,to keep some mystique]

Let me see, 3 questions each for maybe 10,000 active members. Hm yes, Bernd should be finished answering some time in 2009. :D

Seriously though, there is only a very remote possibility of us being able to arrange anything like that. Bernd is a very busy chap and his time is not easy to secure.

We could always *ask* the questions — and the best & quickest way Bernd could answer them would be by getting on with producing the game as fast as he possibly can! That will answer everything. :D

Okay, I've not kept up with the whole thread so apologies if this has been covered. Are savegames going to compatable across regional versions; i.e. will my US TT save games be compatable with the European version of TR?

Save games are already compatible across regions - save game compatability is an intended addition for The Return - stay tuned

What about save games with the 'modified' watermark, anybody have any idea if these will be compatible?

They 'May' be compatable but are not supported so if they crash your computer and force you 'down the mines' to make ends meat it's your own fault...

I'd say theres a 2/1 chance of a modified save turning your computer into silicon wafers... as the return will most likely conflict with unsigned scr... Plug-ins...

My local store is now saying June sometime. I guess thats consistent with a worth-waiting-for game. After all, thats less than the usual overrun on all the good games to date ! :)

I take it that all the signed Scripts will be added into the return then?

You cannt take that as 10-0% no, as if they do carry through, they will have been modified in some way anyway.

The big question is, will The Return solve the issue of X2 losing its playability because it gets to easy? I know I wont buy it if it dosent.

Having to create your own challenges is a poor excuse for a flaw in the game.

Sorry for harsh words buts it how I felt after playing X2.

Pity... Sorry you won't be buying it then...

I'd say you've got about four years to wait for X3 which will be another dissapointment to you... The thing is... once you have 500 destroyers the game IS easy!!!

X2 is a *sandbox* game and, thus, the challenges we face are the challenges we create. Furthermore, the game doesn't get easier as the player progress; its only that the challenges change as the player progresses from lone wolf to wealthy mongul to universal conquestor. :D In short, use your imagination.
