Sorry, but for God sake please don't make big ship just for beign big. 3-4 time of Valhalla? Do you imagine how bad this will be with AI? This ship will be useless, apart from manual control (which is boring for most of us).

If you really want it big I think that 2xtime Valhalla is a MAX.

It' doesn't matter, coz Cadius is like 80% lenght vanilla Valhalla. If you multiple it by 4x and it will still be waay to long to not mess with AI.

2x lenght of Cadius Valhalla might be still within usable size.

We all would like to have giant ships, but X-engine has it's own limitations. Look at Aldrin sector, there is a GIANT ROCK in the middle of the sector that screw AI behavior even while AI is still very far from that rock. Now replace that rock with a big ship, make it movable and put in the middle of busy sector (or in the middle of battle) and you will see that it will screw other ships behavior. It's not that I like beign an ass, but we need to be practical and not "my ship is bigger then your, my ship is enormous!".

Big huge ships are fine as long as it's player only and not intended for combat, something like a mobile base only the player owns, you could park it in a sector while you conduct combat ops in the adjacent sectors and resupply and repair from the command ship. You might want to use an M6 internal dock and launch pad for it then, since it's so huge you should have enough space for it.

He has a point, the gun range is determined from the centre of a ship so a 4km ship loses a lot of weapon range...

Even worse that works in both way, to the extend that hostile ship like fighters are unble to fire their guns coz the avoint that ship long before entering guns range - which make such ship a quasi god-mode.

Ship 2x bigger than Valhalla is more than able to have Valhalla docked to it externally - there is no reason make it even bigger - apart from childlins "Cool factor" that is negated by AI and weapons range problems.

Actually fighters can target either the centre of the ship or the gun emplacements. So that's not so much of an issue. It's mainly the ship that's large that suffers the range issues.

Hmm, the Original Macross isn't better by this.
Its 1.200 Meters Long and 600 wide.

But its not only Military, its a transformable Worldship with 10.000 People (Military and Civilian) on it.
Hmm, i Think the Super Star Destroyer from Star Wars was bigger and has More Personal on it, and this was only Military...
And it gives The Executor Class SSD as flyable M0 for X3:TC.
So such a Ship isn't impossible, its only the Ingame Usefullnes, that is Questionable...

But, if its a Replacement for the Player HQ, with Dockingbays for all Shippclasses and own Production Capacities, than it has a existence right, don't you think?

When i have a Oversized Player HQ or a HQ that looks like a Realy cool Ship, or even the Macross in Humanoid Mode, where is the Problem in have somethink?
(Yeah, the limitations in the X Engine and what else? )

small update

hanger position added, M6 docking hook added, slight adjustment on the size of the head and some adjustment on the side, armor plate added to the side of the engine, potential missile launchers added. and some refinement on the hull..
now it's time to add some turret platforms

cant wait to make a black version of it and get it in game..

btw on the side note: Remake the bridge of Kyoto, and there you have a Executor Star Destroyer like ship.

Looks Great as ever. The front remembers me to the BSG Galactica or the Pegasus, but its cool. :D

Can't wait to have it ingame. :D

I must say that I prefere the previous (aka the first version) - less detailed vesion. This one good, but it's overdetailed and lost it militaristic simplicity.

everyone has different taste, i like both of them, both of them is good in various different way (i cant really pick one and say thiz iz butter)

i might just release both of them with scene provided (they will have the same gun counts of course, and you dont even need to modify the Tship)

since i've already send the 1st version with scene provided to Paul, so i will sort things out after he release 1.15

The Red one looks interesting.
Too bad that there isn't a Paint Station Ingame, where you can Color your Ship as you like with Company Symbol and some other Stuff like launch brands for the Fighter. ^^

Man, i Hope there will be something like this in X4. ^^

Hmm, You could make Shippacks in different colors Shemes, so that the Fans could have some selection for theyr own Fleets. :D
White, Black, Red, Dark Blue, Dark Purple or White with Blue, Red, Black or Purple Marks?

For Example on the Fighters, so that you can see it on theyr Wings which Squadron they are.

Painting can be done at the PHQ IIRC. You can change hue and saturation, whatever that means.

But, wheren't it better, if it gave a Station like a Shipyard for each Race, that can make this?
A other place so you needn't have to wait until you can make it in the player's headquarters?

Someone could made a new Station Design and give it the coloring Scripts from the Player HQ with some Prices.
They could be diffrent for each Shipclass, so that a little Intercepter Fighter a cheaper than a big Battleship or carrier?
And it schould have a external Docking Place for REAL Big Ships like an M0.

I don't know if this is possible, but the Script could use Symbols in a Special folder, where the Player can put in own Symbols in a specific format.

Hmm, in this Moment there is the Anime "The last Unicorn" in TV.
It would be interesting to see a Fleet that has the Theme Unicorn in it, i think. ^^

Hue is the color itself... adjusting the slider will move it through the colorwheel. Leftmost will be the same as rightmost.

the saturation is the purity of the color... less saturation the more "gray" it looks... the more saturation the richer the color.

On topic... I WANTZ TEH SHIPZ!

Edit: I was also thinking about something just now... you can pretty much make a ship of any size without having to worry about gate passage... Every core sector has a jump beacon and fair number of border sectors do as well... if you dig up that jump beacon script... or just spawn them with the script editor... you can move the M0 size ships anywhere you want them.
