Re: Many thanks for fixing mining.
Both automatic mining and mine for homebase does it for me, if their cargo hold doesn't get filled completely, then they'll keep trying to mine, rather than drop off their cargo, but because the space in the cargo bay is too little to receive any more, it'll just keep switching to idle.
I can get it to work by using automated mining, and limiting them to just one resource, then filling in the cargo space a bit, to make sure it'll hit an exactly full cargo with the mineral type it's gathering.

In automated mining, if there are no minerals to be found in the designated radius, the ship will unload its cargo to the drop off point and idle. This unloading happens regardless of whether their cargo bay is full or not. IMO thats the most logical scenario which can happen.
Miners wait for further commands, its a blue collar job !!!

Re: Many thanks for fixing mining.
I have issues with Automated mining and mine for hombase as soon as there are more than one size rocks to collect.
I see the ship flying around with the current goal "Idling" while there is still plenty or rocks to collect around. When i get a closer look, most of the time it have 12 to 17 empty space to take cargo but do not and won't go unload at base either. Need to tell it manually to unload and start the command again to have it mine again (I have ice ore and silicon in my mining system and ask to pick all three).
Is it happening only to me?

Hmm, I can't get my mining system running at all.
I got a Pelican Miner and 2 Falcon Miners with the Pelican as homebase. Should have all the Software.
Im in Profit Center Alpha, theres Debris (silicone wafers and ore), I blew up an asteroid with a hornet missile once and there r rocks.
Any mining order I give to either the Pelican or the Falcons (collect rocks, auto mine, mine and sell etc) just results in them "idling....".
I must be doin smthing wrong ?
Heres a save file if someone wants to have a look.

Just tried your save and I got one of your Falcon Miners to collect silicon.I think part the problem might be the Falcons have Energy Bolt Chain guns fitted, but on the Falcon I checked no Ammo for them! I blew up one of the silicon Asteriod with Hornets from you Nemesis ,used about five and made the rocks increasing smaller then told the Falcon Automine which got him working.Topo111 wrote: ↑Fri, 21. Im my own game I have only one Caiman miner with a Mobile Drilling System fitted mining Nividuim which he uses himself to break the rocks into collectable Debris.

Have to say it again and give credits to Cycrow again. Automated mining is pretty amazing.
I have 10 Falcons mining Nividium who are homebased to a TL (where they can dock). When Nividium is depleted in their vicinity, they dock at TL and wait. If we move the TL to a new place & blow another Nividium asteroid, the Falcon miners automatically undock and continue their mining routine. This thing is simply amazing.

Mining with the Cormoran, working fine so far. Too bad you can't chose what the drones will mine and you can't select a place to unload.
But really a nice addition.

Out of curiosity, why is the Geochem Miner so expensive with regard to reputation .. Is it that good a miner or what ??

Re: Many thanks for fixing mining.
Maybe its due to it being a TP+ vessel. Its the only such ship actually. Teladi is so much in to profitsss, they are developing mining variants to most of it's ships.

Dunno if it makes a difference, but it's also a TP & has quite reasonable speed, esp for a Teladi design..

I would like to add to the list.
Seems like the random HQ spawns can help find the stuff a little easier. Automated Mining Command seems to head for the nearest sector after it has completed one round trip. Which is really cool.
