The numeric-folder is only a steam thing. Normally there is just the X4 folder (GOG, no-steam.exe)

The SoaSE Logos are in 4k --> wont this impact Performance ingame when logos on many ships have such a huge resolution?
Ofc ***modified***, modders doing what Egosoft cant.

I'm 99% certain the game already downscales them but if you're worried about it you could just shrink the one you want to use.
I notice precisely 0 impact to performance but tracking down performance issues in X4 is an almost futile exercise.

I just made them at super high resolution so they would be as clear as possible for people to do whatever they wanted.

I doubt that.
because not all ships will be in the same sector and the once in other sector are not loaded so don't need a logo at all.
Also I do think egosoft is smart enough to load the logo only once to show in each ship.
in that case all ships are actually carrying the same image and not different instances.

Yeah, I'd love to see some logos based on Split Faction designs/lore orientated.

I have no idea what their style is or even language, tried making my own on photoshop but it didn't come out too well.
I just stick to my Ragna-Tech Ltd. Logo.. Would love love to have a Split Playthrough where I Roleplay as the son of a minor Split Family rising to be the next Patriarch.

Just need the right logo to reflect my Family Colours.

If some of you are into old school pinup girls on your flying craft, Turning the background to transparency works really well.
It would probably work for Anime too. Easier in fact as there isn't usually as much shading as a painted pinup image and edges aren usually crisper.
There are tutorials on how to make transparent surfaces for certain parts of a Logo.
I used to do such images for a 3Ds Max project I was doing; but that was a decade ago.
Doesn't matter as long as it's the right filename that X4 allows which I think it does.
I know of transparency as I've been using it. Glow, apparently is a thing. (Haven't used it yet)
What else besides? Can you use normal maps, specular highlights?
I haven't tried that myself, i'd be interested if someone can pull it off?
Managed to get my Ragna-Tech Logo to go see-through, just by adding another Layer below it and reducing opacity to 0% on Photoshop, saved it as a .PNG, overwritten the original files with the new design and it worked great! when I booted up X4. :D
Put I do wonder if there are other tricks you can do? I know X4 accepts .Gif files.
I think there is a file size limit? Might just be 100x100, wonder if one can use Adobe Imageready to give the logo a Neon sign like animated glow? :gruebel:

I'd recommend looking at my Sins of a Solar Empire logos. I find that a lot of the Vasari emblems are very fitting for the Split and actually end up looking right at home next to the ones the Split use.

In the typical "pinup painted on a bomber" style, here's a couple family friendly pinup style decals from a couple of my favorite artists.

As an aside, if you order fine art books, wash your hands with soap to strip the oils before opening.
Fingerprints stain in much the same way as a fingerprint on a monitor. They can't be cleaned off paper like you can on a monitor.

here is something that i created, not mutch, but its honest work

a Quettanaut, Maja Snail, Teladi themed composition. i was seeing this holographic maja snail logo ingame hovering near a station and was mad i couldn't use it, so i made a picture of it ingame, opened up Gimp
and hand crafted it into the game ;D here is what i came up with

a black version, and a white and a black version with a golden highlight onto the Teladi Maja Snail Eye ;D

the google drive folder is public and directly leads to the transparent backgrounded already formated for x4 foundation sized logos
im using this for my pirate themed operation squads ;D
