I dunno what to say... I'm now playing my 'started in 2018' game with so many ships and megafactories, it'd make your head spin, but I'm getting 60 FPS (Vsync limit) in all graphic settings in most circumstances. - If performance was balked by 3.0 release / Vendetta, wouldn't it have to be so for all users?
I'd question whether the game does fully recover within 10 minutes of starting, however, especially when using a zoomed out map, but there's no ifs, no buts, in my game - I have a very marked FPS increase over 3.0 beta 10HF2 without Vendetta.
I don't know if a performance issue thread has been started in the beta forum, but I'm pretty sure the devs are gonna want plenty of mature saves to check out. to see what is going on. - *IF* I run into any performance scenarios, I promise to add to it.
Have the goalposts moved regarding how specific processors react to the game? I dunno. - Simplistic I know, but I can say: 'I7 8700, GTX 1050Ti, 16GB - significantly better performance now I'm several hours into 3.0 release/Vendetta.'

Re: Bad FPS is back.
This is my point. My older games run GREAT when I load them up in 3.0, no complaints what so ever. However, 3hrs+ into my fresh, vanilla start with 3.0 + DLC performance has been awful! Things are improving so, when CBJ mentioned 10 minutes for a new game to settle, I suspect the real amount of time is several hours. I've just gone over the six hour mark, and my game appears to be performing much better than it was at the start.Gavrushka wrote: ↑Wed, 1. Apr 20, 23:51 I dunno what to say... Note: I did have prior experience with the SV DLC prior to release and I had no performance issues starting a fresh game at the time. It's very odd.

Re: Bad FPS is back.
LOL, sorry, I should've read your post more carefully.
But, yeah, I agree it is taking longer than 10 minutes. - When I expanded map fully, it wasn't until several game hours it stopped jerking and twitching due to the load.
And, trying to prove my mistaken point, I set my game to ultra, flew into the Free Families rep Equipment Dock showing a solid 60 FPS, then *boom* it dropped to single digits, and wouldn't recover after resetting graphics to medium. - Saved game and exited, and hope it reloads okay. - I don't suppose videoing games (I was) in ultra is any more load to videoing in medium res?
Reloading game now, and I hope my idiocy hasn't went gone made it broke!

Re: Bad FPS is back.
After playing a few more hours, it seems to be a CPU limitation on my end as I increased my resolution from 1080P to 4K and it didn't make much of a difference on the frame rates.
Still getting 40 fps in empty sectors and 10-15 in the really busy ones.

No worries
I have observed odd FPS drops when approaching certain stations - not one that scream "low performance here" by any means. However, saving - thinking I could demonstrate the issue - then reloading regularly saw my FPS back up to expected levels. Aka 60fps for me.

Ah, I have picked up a bug, and lucky enough to have the save. Reload put me at a solid 40+ fps in the equipment dock, but as soon as I tried moving, it dropped to 8, and stayed at 8 whatever I did... Until I turned back towards my ship and walked towards the guidance line to the rep I was about to see. Will make a bug report now.Scoob wrote: ↑Thu, 2. Apr 20, 01:02 No worries

Re: Bad FPS is back.
Similar issues to the rest here, Getting a smooth locked 60 on a new start but drops sharply into the 40's/30s the second i step foot on most stations. no change of graphics settings makes any difference, Cpu isnt even being stressed either.
Map also halves my Fps.
i7 8700k (4.7ghz all cores)
32gb ram
1080ftw
nv 2 ssd's (3000 mb/s r/w)
playing 1080p (tried all presets and disabling all effects reflections/msaa/smaa etc)

Re: Bad FPS is back.
Did they ever solve that thing where having nvidia sound drivers installed caused bad performance? I thought that tended to happen around stations too.

@JakubCW, I'm gonna argue with the official comment about framerates recovering after 10 minutes with the new DLC, and say that it takes a few hours.* - I've the same CPU as you, but a baby GTX 1050ti GPU (don't laugh at me,) and around 8 hours playing with the DLC, and I'd say the map framerates have now stabilised at a level above what I'd experienced prior, even with map zoomed fully out, and panning like a mad gold prospector.
I can upload a save for a comparison, if you like.
(And I've no idea why it could take so long for my game to fully settle, but I assure you, grumbling devs, it has!
)
*having said that, there was a very marked improvement in the first few minutes other than in the map, which took a lot longer, and at first tended to stick like freshly produced lung batter to your monitor after a whiplash-inducing coughing fit.

Re: Bad FPS is back.
I teleported to one of my new stations with only 2 modules and no workers on it and the frame rate was great 60fps with vsync turned on. But I teleported to my non busy station which is fully built and my FPS dropped below 20.
Like I said in my first post. They rolled back the fix with food demand constantly pinging and that was causing the bad FPS, after they already know what was causing it, they still didnt bother fixing it properly till V2.6. and now in 3.0 theyve rolled back the fix and we're all getting the FPS problems again. the 3.0 patch was in beta for 4 months. SIX MONTHS THE GAME WAS UNPLAYABLE FOR ME because of horrible FPS and then station construction grinded to a halt at 2.6. Then the morons fixed the station construction problem. They fixed it straight away 4 MONTHS AGO but wouldnt release the fix. They wanted everyone to wait FOUR ****** MONTHS for the DLC to be completeld before they released the fix. Why couldnt they release a 2.7 patch with the FIXES and then 3.0 with teh new content later? This whole thing has been manged VERY VERY badly. And then they release 3.0 FOUR MONTHS LATER... WITHOUT THE FIXES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So after waiting SIX MONTHS for the DLC and the 3.0 to finally come out... I STILL CANT PLAY THE GAME.

Re: Bad FPS is back.
Right, that's enough. We have not rolled back any fixes, and we did not delay releasing fixes because of the DLC.
