Yes, hopefully, they are gone now. They didn't suit X at all. I'd rather have more maxi game, thank you very much. And having to mod them all out is so tedious.BlackRain wrote: 8 ) Mini games, I didn't see anything to suggest there are any.

This is hilariously wrong.BlackRain wrote:Pretty sure it is egosoft that determines what is 'X4' and what is 'X Rebirth 2'.
It looks as if in their quest for more ships with interiors they reduced uniqueness of designs quite a bit. Inevitable i guess, unfortunate as it is... i love the original X3R ship designs - they look like someone designed them and didnt just cobble them together with some simple blocks and chamfered them a few times..cataclaw wrote:What happened to the Argon Nova? Anyways super stoked about X4 but that Argon Nova makes me laugh.

To be fair, it's like Bernd said. The older X games had just gotten too bogged down with features that were added on that it became difficult to support. Part of the reason X Rebirth happened was so they could have a fresh start. In that respect it makes sense that this game would feel (at least on the surface) closer to X Rebirth.BlackRain wrote:Pretty sure it is egosoft that determines what is 'X4' and what is 'X Rebirth 2'.Stars_InTheirEyes wrote:I know its early in development still but my first impressions are that it is X Rebirth version 2, not X4.
I'll be keeping an eye on it for sure, but I wont be pre-ordering or using Early Access or anything like that.
Please tell me what would constitute what you consider to be 'X4' ?
What is your criticism exactly? I can't understand any of you who are saying this because I find it to be absolutely ridiculous.
Gotta admit that I found the design of the nova very.... underwhelming, odd even. I assume the larger ship we see later is the cerberus, which also looks a bit generic. They arnt designs im going to fall in love with and I felt the same about most ships in XR too really. I'm hoping its just because it's wip, although beating the X3R designs is a tall order. They are some of the most memorable ships in games/sci-fi imho, the disco and barracuda have always been my faves. It is not necessary to have a reason. It can be just an alternative way to do something. Not mentioning greedy players, or those who pilot an unique ship and do not want to loose it because he flied too far away, or being in some dead-end situation, or cant pay for repair right now, or greedy, or very greedy.Sparky Sparkycorp wrote:The EVA aspect of your question was answered quite recently as follows:Axeface wrote: Oh, EVA and repair laser will be a thing?linolafett wrote:That is currently not planned. How do you type anything on a console (or Vita for that matter)? - By using the on screen virtual keyboard, which i also happen to have just used to type out this reply and which i often use to type/enter much longer messages...lostProfitssssArrgh wrote:How do you rename a ship using nothing but a controller? Honestly, I think that trying to make a game series like X a general-public product was at the core of the X-R launch debacle. Maybe Egosoft even submitted the game for distribution on console platforms but got denied access due to the many issues X-R had at the time.
Whether Egosoft is trying to get more players to buy their games or not, I'm afraid 4X games are forever destined to address only niche audiences (most people just want to get distracted from reality for 30 mins to an hour; see CandyCrush/your latest twitch game).
To Egosft : the X series is by far the most unique experience I've come across since the NES days, not to mention the most inspiring. So please don't steer off the course you've laid for yourselves and your customers. But reality being what it is, even that might not be possible...
Still, hang tight, hang true. We'll be here with our wallets ready, it'll just be harder to convince us this time.
Godspeed,

Not only that, the potential of the new Map/UI stands to fix a real problem with the X Trilogy with a real solution and launch it to a new level of gameplay. I'm happy for all X Universe players and space sim fans because this is innovation in the genre not covered by the other developers.BlackRain wrote: 11) The Map, while in some ways looks similar to X rebirth, is very different from X rebirth, so much so that it can be considered a brand new feature. It has many more commands and functions than ever before in my opinion.
