Sorry to say it ...There are lot of cool Ships, Factories and Galaxy in Rebirth just a sorry shame there is very little true gameplay ... After all the previous X games it is a sad comment.

Here's how I look at that personally:

It's possible to make up you own gameplay in spite of the game having rough edges (or sometimes missing ones). For example, a made up game might involve the challenge of exploring all locations on a photo-shoot mission; capturing images of all objects found. You could pretend to be someone who works for a company that has hired you to do that.

Or, then there's mods. A big part of the reason I mod, is to add elements to the game to make it more enjoyable to me.

In summary, there are plenty of ways to enjoy this game - even if you don't like how it currently works in vanilla.

Then, of course there are those who have played many hundreds of hours and found it to be sufficiently worth their time to do so. Couple the above with the fact that Egosoft is continuing to improve Rebirth and I think (personally) we have a game that is not without merits.

FINALLY someone who think like me about the potential of this game! But I m not able to mod it myself... I have to wait for modders like you to improve the things to get it where WE want!

I was going to express EXACTLY the same concept with the same example, but since you already wrote that a lot better than I could ever try (sometimes I'm in trouble with my own mother tongue, imagine with yours ), I'll just say that I definitely agree with you

And since I've always been a very contemplative and "visual" player, the "bird watcher" gameplay suits me quite well...sadly, I don't have the spare time (and dedication) for such a task as a complete collection of all ships (sorry Observe!)...nevertheless, you will surely see a lot more ships screenshots coming from me in the times ahead...

If only I still had time and inspiration for some 3DSMax and Photoshop ...
