Space isn't quite at 100km in this - the planet is much smaller and denser than the Earth. The radius of the planet is around 600km.
I can leave it on 1 SAS module with it toggled and it never seems to exert itself as much as if I press f.

Mission Time 1:10 ..
Distance to planet: ~2360km
Orbit: as stable as it can be for that game ..

:D

Going to undock the last engine at 1:30 .. lets see how long the capsule is going to stay in orbit.

Mission Time 1:10 ..

Is that 1 hour 10 mins? :o

Also, what do people use as a lift off stage? I can never get anything stable that goes above ~150m/s in a rocket that can make it into space.
Allergic to work.

Bill and Bob start screaming just before lift off, and don't stop till you're back on the ground. It's only if Jeb is screaming that you start getting worried. :)

Today, just before 2PM, my spacecraft entered a fairly circular Polar orbit at about 300km altitude. 48 minutes later it splashed down in the Great Kerbific Ocean. Recovery crews say that they may be able to locate the spacecraft some time in the next six months - they have all the crew members of all their ships looking through binoculars six hours a day.

The launcher was a modified Delta IVb.

Kerbston, this is Boop III, still going at 2.3km/s, now about 1500km away from the surface, all is well. We're hoping to do some star spectroscopy work then fall back with gravity. Jeb is smiling, Bill and Bob are screaming there heads off, repeat; everything is normal... Kerbston, see you in a few hours!

Pah, 2.3km/s at that distance? 3.2km/s at 2000km kerbitalist fool! :P Yeah, I deliberately tried to get a liquid booster+ 2 fuel tanks up so I could keep accelerating for a good long while. After many spectacular failures (Many times the thing couldn't even get off the ground, a few the engine orders got mixed up and it fell over  ), Kerbpustin Yar cosmodrome of the Union of Kerbal Socialist Republics (UKSR) succeeded in producing a rocket that continues to accelerate even out to over 1000 kilometres!

Unfortunately, the conscripted pilots Bobski, Bilad and Jebediahuri can't make it do anything other than go straight up without crashing it...

Still can't get it into any kind of orbit, let alone one so 'low' at 300km. Props to Usenko.

Pah, pathetic Kermunnist! I can beat you!

EDIT:

v^2 = u^2 + 2as

Current distance = 514,058m
End distance = 2,000,000m
So...
s = 1,485,942m
u = 4308.7m/s
a (kinda innacurate) = -3m/s/s

Therefore...
At 2000km I shall be travelling at...

3106.3m/s! And not only that, but I will be going FASTER! Because this is not taking into account that gravity will become weaker and therefore my retardation will decrease. (God I've waited years to say that.)

Kerpitalism wins again!

EDIT2: Hmm, I'm not sure if the extra 100m/s is actually viable. So after all that I'll just leave it running and see what I'm really at.

EDIT3: *Smugface*, 2000km, 3865.7m/s! :D

EDIT4: I can now get out of the atmopshere at 20km with 6 tanks of fuel! :D

Atmosphere is at 20km? If so, I've been leaving it with well more than 6 tanks routinely.

Not been getting to 3865m/s though, I'll give you that. Currently wrestling with the stage setup interface to make my stages work in the order they should. Kind of frustrating.

I'm currently doing simple things, although I've reached the 700km mark. At that point I tried to get into a stable orbit using my last tank of fuel, but failed and began losing altitude.

Now Jebediah decided to take revenge on all of us by doing a suicide maneuver:

Look at Bob's face. He saw it coming from the beginning.

And Jebediah's face shows his madness during the last few seconds of his life.

Yes they will return (at that speed in 500 years ,but they will :D ).That planet is like a black hole ...you can't escape its gravity :x

I hope our programmers here will fix that with a mod or something because I really want to see my ship floating in space.

At 2000k I appear to have accidentaly deployed my parachute.

Presumably at that height nothing should happen

Paraphrasing Grim Lock, I call your multi-stage liquid booster and raise this:
