I'm not an active poster, but it boggles my mind when people say, "Do you know this thread is 2 years old right?"
I just started playing X3 2 months ago and the game hasn't been updated since 3.0 so if my question is relevant to this topic, why can't i post it here? its not as if the content has changed since the guide was made.

First of all we have a forum rule that discourages posting in old or outdated topics:rcollins779x wrote:I'm not an active poster, but it boggles my mind when people say, "Do you know this thread is 2 years old right?"

If you have a problem with or a question about that (or any other) rule, it is a very good idea to contact a moderator via PM and not to simply ignore it.Forum rules wrote:9. We have an excellent FAQ. You can link search here or perform a detailed search here. 'Bumping' (replying to a thread not discussed since a long time ago) of old or out of date topics is not encouraged.
Now why do we have this rule in the first place? There are a couple of reasons for that:
- Old topics are often outdated. This can either mean that the game has been updated and changes were made or that the question/problem, which has been discussed, is solved already. Additionally, not all topics are clearly marked which game they discuss and so it can happen that people don't realise that the post they are replying to is only relevant to a different game in a different version.
- The users who posted in old topics might no longer be active. Thus, they won't be able to reply to any new posts.
- Other users may not notice that a topic is old, when it's brought up to the first page again, and start replying to old/outdated posts. This happens quite often and in almost every case causes more confusion than it is helpful to anyone.
Last but not least: The current version of X3TC is 3.2(c). So if you're still running version 3.0, you should consider updating to the newest version.

You've obviously misunderstood the intent of my post above. I was responding to someone else who was giving advice to someone who hadn't posted here in years. That's a pointless thing to do. And as I also said, feel free to post new questions here since it is a guide thread. I hope that clears up any misunderstanding.rcollins779x wrote:I'm not an active poster, but it boggles my mind when people say, "Do you know this thread is 2 years old right?"

Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.

Wow, I didn't even know it was POSSIBLE to kill Mahi Ma (normally, plot-critical characters or other objects are invulnerable, except some very rare exceptions.) Unfortunately, as far as I know, the only way to fix that is to go back to a game save from before the... unfortunate incident of Mahicide... (There may be a script-based way to 'reset' the plot, but I'm the wrong person to ask about mod-based things, and it *might* break other stuff, possibly...)

Mahi Ma's Enhanced Dolphin only becomes invulnerable when you actually start the relevant part of the plot. Before that it can indeed be destroyed by the player or NPCs.
The good news is that if that happens then the plot resets and a new Enhanced Dolphin and Mahi Ma will respawn about 30 minutes later in the same place or somewhere else that is acceptable to the plot conditions. Then you can start that part of the plot.
There also can be a snag if the NPC Enhanced Dolphin docks somewhere with Mahi Ma aboard as it can be a pain to get it to undock again.
Later on in the plot you can lose Mahi Ma when you should be picking her up from space and transporting her somewhere. Typically this is through leaving it too long, or changing ships and losing the necessary cargo space or Life Support, etc. She is not killed, just usually left floating in space somewhere along the intended route.
If all else fails and you don't mind going modded then there is this.
